2  fleece hat pattern help? in Clothing for Kids: Discussion and Questions by ebeth on: February 19, 2008 01:38:16 PM
We lost my daughter's hat last night (ironically at joann's) and of course lost without a trace Sad

being the middle of winter...but NO ONE is selling toddler hats any more (now bathing suits are everywhere...but not hats)...i have searched and searched and cannot find a lined fleece hat pattern ANYWHERE...i would even pay for the pattern (as long as it was reasonable)

this is what her hat looked like (it was from target)

please please, can anyone help? ... the stupid draw-string-less hood on her coat just isnt  going to keep her little head warm Sad

3  the gir that keeps on giving (pic heavy) in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by ebeth on: February 18, 2008 10:47:11 AM
So it took me a while to get some photos...but i made this for my brother for christmas, last year and this year. I knit the robot gir for him last year and i made the dog costume for it this year. I am so proud of it (hence all the photos), i made the costume without any pattern and got it right practically the first time ( made a few minor adjustments ) ...without further ado...

5  clicked a hot topic photo, but got sent to another post in Knitting: Discussion and Questions by ebeth on: November 07, 2007 07:27:43 PM
i hope someone who saw this or the poster themselves can help me....

earlier today this photo was in the home pages' hot topics section

but instead it took me to a blue sweater with a bear on it (adorable as it was is wasnt the slippers i was interested in)...

these slippers are just perfect for my daughter in our horribly drafty apartment....can anyone help me find out more about these slippers?

7  my machine hates me...please help in Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions by ebeth on: September 26, 2007 08:48:25 PM
i think my machine is going on strike...it keeps getting all gummed up (the thread that is)...and now it is so bad, that i only get about 12 inches of sewing before it craps out on me....

im pretty new to sewing, so i dont know if its something that i am doing or if its the machine...ive tried opening it and cleaning the lint, etc out....i tried a new bobbin....

im at a loss and about to have to give up sewing....i really cant take it any more....has anyone had this problem? does anyone have a solution?

here are photos of what happens...

im desperate....if its me - hopefully one of you skilled veterns can show me the error of my ways....if its just my machine - then ill just have to pack it all in and give up (i cant afford to have it looked at or to get a new one)....

a bit melodramatic...i know...its been one of those days  Cry

8  apron dress in Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects by ebeth on: July 11, 2007 01:57:56 PM
here is the latest dress that i made my little one...i made the pattern up myself from an existing dress (that was my mom's when she was a baby)...and i thought i measured and did it all exactly...but a few little bits were off....i am mostly happy with it...but i want to try again to fix a few things....so maybe you more experienced seamstresses can help me trouble shoot...i would really appreciate it if you can Smiley

the biggest problem i have with it is that once i put it on her the top ruffle keeps flipping down...my 2 best guesses are: 1- its too "tall" of a ruffle (it ended up about am 1/8-1/4" taller than the original) or 2 - it is too tightly gathered (these were my very first attempts at making ruffles)...

if i need to, i will try to get better photos, im not sure you can see from these...its right at her chin area that it always flips....oh wait....here's one...

thanks for taking a look Smiley
