ali_n_zoe ~ I didn't use a pattern, i just made it up as i went along!! I did use Mary Thamas's "Dictionary of embroidery stiches" to find the stitches. It's a really useful book with good directions!

Lady Llanalla ~ i didn't move the hoop at all, i just angled the needle under the rim!!

Thanks fot the comments!

BethyG ~ I've just checked out sublime stitching! I never knew it existed!! Thank you thay have some wicked ideas!

I'm not sure what to do with them yet? Maybe turn them into cushions or maybe do a couple more and turn them in to some kind of wall art!!

8  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / wood carving!! (hope this is in the right place?) on: July 23, 2006 04:27:14 PM
We did a wood carving day at the local park! It was fantastic; Ive never attempted anything like this before, and have to say I was absolutely rubbish at it!! However, my better half excelled and I thought Id show off his wonderful work!! This was his first attempt at anything like this... I'm so proud of him!!

This is the finished piece before oiling.

this is the final piece after oiling sorry about the dodgy pictures, I still can't figure out my digital camera!

(incidentally my piece will make good fire wood!!)

10  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Re: does anyone know where I caould get this wedding dress pattern?? on: July 18, 2006 12:13:51 PM
I've had this picture for a while now, but I think I took it from my boyfriends 'empire' magazine. If Im right the woman wearing the dress was in a Woody Alan film called Melinda and Melinda I think the article was about that film and this was just the accompanying picture. Ive no idea who made it though..sorry I couldnt be of any more help. xxx
