Sorry if this has been discussed before----does anyone know anything about the Vogue Knitting website?  When will it be back up and running?

25  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / I need HELP! ACK! on: September 28, 2007 07:43:25 AM
Ok, I am finally getting around to finishing a BDAY present for my best friend's daughter (she turns 1 next week).

I knitted the Placket Neck Sweater from Last Minute Knitted GIfts (ok, the freebie pattern, but still) and I have TWO problems I need help with.

1st:  I had to rip out the bottom edging because, when I changed it up to picot edging instead of seed stitch, it curled, even after washing it.  So I ripped it back about 2 inches and started stockinette stitch over.  Because the yarn was "curly" (for lack of better wording), my stockinette looks weird against the other stockinette.  Now, If I wash the sweater again, will that fix itself?  It looks like it should.

2nd:  in one of my arm holes, where I tried to do color changes/striping, I have a hole because I didn't twist the yarns the right way.  How can I go about closing this hole?

Thanks for any help in advance!!

Has anyone seen this book?  Is it any good?

My bookstores don't have it in.  I like the other three and wondered if the 4th is any good.

Has anyone tried winding into balls with a ball winder?  Will this cause problems due to the crinkly-ness of the yarn?
28  CLOTHING / Clothing for Curvaceous Craftsters: Discussion and Questions / Help! Underarm pudge! on: August 10, 2007 09:42:13 PM
I really like this and would love to make one (maybe with different sleeves but that's another story), but I'm totally self conscious about my pudge that sticks out under my arms near my boobs!

Any tips on how to keep that under control?
29  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Camo Yarn? on: July 31, 2007 01:12:20 PM
I want to make a blanket for an 8 year old boy and I have some skeins of Bernats Camo (Renegade to be exact).  I was thinking either a wavy ripple or blocks....but I don't want to do a granny square if I can help it.  I plan to edge it with the bright orange yarn that is in the camo line.

Any thoughts?
30  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Amy Butler Patchwork Bag/Heather Bailey Fresh Cut on: July 27, 2007 06:42:22 PM
I just finished the Patchwork Bag from Amy Butler's "In Stitches" Book and I love it!  I made the dimensions bigger (6x6x18 instead of 5x5x15) and I used 9 fabrics from Heather Bailey's Fresh Cut line.  I'm totally in love with it! I'm using it as my knitting bag. I'm going to be sewing a small bag (with a magnetic clasp) to keep misc knitting items in it and a coordinating needle roll for my crochet hooks and DPNS.

Side 2:

The inside with my cell phone pocket, on the other side is a magnetic clasp that has a loop attached to the other part of the clasp so I can attach my keys:
