11  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Re: Queen sized Log Cabin Quilt Finished! on: September 11, 2009 08:33:34 PM
Thanks everyone!!  It's been so comfy to sleep under at night!  Now I just need to finish those pillow cases! lol  (I've gotten ahead of myself working on the hexagon blanket! lol)

Sugarpumpkin: I followed the pattern from the book, so off hand I don't recall the exact yardage!

14  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Queen sized Log Cabin Quilt Finished! on: August 31, 2009 09:42:49 AM
I finally finished this quilt!!

Stats:

Log Cabin Quilt (I used the pattern from "Last Minute Patchwork + Quilted Gifts")
Fabrics:  Joel Dewberry--Almond Sparrows(front) & Orange Damask (backing) from the Aviary Line; Kona Cotton Solid (I don't remember exact color)
Batting: Warm & Natural
Machine Quilted (PITA) in spiral type squares around each block

Now, I'm making matching pillow cases of the Orange Damask print.  After this project is over, I'll be finishing up the Hexagon Quilt made of Erin McMorris "Wildwood" fabrics! YUM!!

Sorry the picture is bad, but I just snapped a quick shot.

It looks extra wrinkly because I left it sitting in the dryer too long! lol

That's fantastic!!  I love the colors!!

Now that you've done one, you can always try machine quilting!!  It looks SO comfy!

That's just ADORABLE!!!  I love those prints!

(and for the record, I wanted to MARRY and astronaut when I was little lol  I married a Rocket Scientist instead---but he does work on the space shuttle! So close enough for me! Smiley lol)
20  QUILTING / Quilting: Discussion and Questions / Re: First time quilting - specific foot? on: August 06, 2009 08:40:00 PM
To be honest, I don't really know what a "1/4" hemming foot" is, so I can't comment on it.  But I LOVE to use my walking foot for piecing AND straight line quilting.  Free motion or sometimes called darning foot for free motion quilting if your machine allows (I think it's the dropping of the feed dogs that allows you to free motion? It's late and I'm tired and can't think straight, so don't quote me on it! lol)
