Here you go

It's great in salads too.

Don't think they sell that over here. Interesting concept though!

Hey swap buddy!! I saw it 2 days ago as well. And as for me, it was a choice between 300 and BJ, but my mate didn't relish the idea of seeing "the mother of all battle movies".

I thought it was pretty looking, but DULL. It's never a good thing when you and your mate are giggling over their 'tragic' love affair. If you've seen 2005 P&P there are so many scenes in BJ that are exactly like it. The ending is ridiculous too.
The countryside is bloody gorgeous though, and recognisable as irish countryside. it was filmed in either Co Wicklow or Wexford.
It was fun to watch, but definitely wouldn't rush out and tell all my friends about it.

I got no inspiration for the swap whatsoever from BJ.

I'm really worried about this swap because I can't find the time to craft.. I have to study for my Leaving.. the stress of which would probably be understandable to you Saor.. but I have made one or two things, major creative block though!

It WAS dull. And the ending....!!!

Argh - the Leaving! I still get nightmares  where I am doing a paper in some foreign language I don't know, like Greek or something. I get over the panic and decide to do my best and then the paper turns into difficult maths/quantum physics like stuff. And it's a long time since I did the Leaving.

Do you still do a classic book for the English exam? I was disappointed to miss out studying P&P- it was on the syllabus the year after -  we had to do Hard Times Angry

Don't worry about having time to craft, it's not coming far  Wink and I'll enjoy whatever you make.

It depends, its for the Comparative.. our english class really wasn';t of that high standard (except for about 3-4 of us she said), so we had to do a relatively easy novel. The 5th years are doing Wuhtering Heights.. my absolute favourite novel.. I was devastated! We're doing Macbeth, Death of a Salesman, A Slipping Down Life and the film Witness.

P&P is on this year too.
19  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Re: Retirement gift for school "Hagrid" janitor/caretaker on: April 08, 2007 02:41:31 PM
What about something dragon themed?  They were Hagrid's favourites.

True! I'll think on that one.. maybe Fawkes the Phoenix.. for rebirth.

It was good certainly but I was a little disappointed because I was SO looking forward to it. I had the problem that I knew too much about JA's life so I knew what was going to happen to all the characters. Also I was saying this or that wouldn't have happened. Jane wouldn't have done that Grin
To which my husband said - How do you know? I just know - o.k. Grin

It was a toss up between seeing Becoming Jane and The 300 and Jane won - but he enjoyed Becoming Jane more than me, lol.

I think I would  probably enjoy it if I saw it again but the obvious parallels to P&P were a bit irritating.

I enjoyed it most when I forgot it was about Jane Austen to be honest. I did enjoy trying to work out where in Ireland it was filmed...
