5491  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: foc swap 3 gallery! on: June 25, 2006 08:12:26 PM
It's been quite warm lately and I have a riverboat luncheon on Wednesday and I'm wearing my new skirt!  See, now, that's not a pattern I might have thought to make a skirt of...but I love it!

If anyone needs help getting pics posted, please send them to me and I will be happy to post them.  If your partner received, but hasn't posted pics or thanked you (and it's been awhile), please post pics if you have them!

lady4feet - if you want a set of cards, just tell me what you want.  We can do a personal swap!  I have access to loads of printing equipment, so it's easy for me to do them and cheap too!

Okay, it's like my FOC'cer is better informed than my family and friends!LOL  For my surprise I got a beautifully made skirt in a wonderful pattern.  Here's a close up of the pattern:

And, *takes deep breath* here's my in my skirt:

My daughter took the picture and I asked her why she made me look short and fat and she said (are you ready?), "Mom, you look how you always do."  Roll Eyes  Ask a stupid question.....

Anyhow, I love my skirt!  FOC'cer, you wanted to know about the fit?  I do have to take it in a bit, but that won't be hard.  It hits just below my knees, so it's perfect for work.  Thank you so much!!!

What do I know about my FOC?  She has a sister that's 6' tall.

Ah, that was lovely!  The bag is very nice, is it stenciled?  The Spike shrine is also nice.

Mara - I hope you're feeling loads better!  I didn't want to bug you when you were sick, so I didn't PM ya.  You didn't have to send overnight, silly girl!  I'll let you know as soon as it arrives!

Kristen - I guess I'm organizing unless someone shouts that they want a turn!LOL  I don't mind stepping aside if someone else wants to do it.  Goodness knows, it's a bit of work. Smiley

beautifulloser - as for the cards, janonice gave me the directions.  You just measure how large of a pic you need to cover the suit on the cards, size your pics (I just use word and get the pics off various places on the internet), print them all on a bit heavier paper (not cardstock, but something a little heavier than normal so that you can't see the suit through it), i use scrapbooking tape to tape them on and I get them laminated at work.  Then I just cut off the extra laminate and there I go!  I've done 3 pinup girl sets, 2 HP sets, 1 Ron set and 1 HP boy/boy set (special request from my first swap).

The potterpuff stuff is so cute!  I bet the kiddies look adorable in them!

Here's a coupla photos I took of the stuff I sent motoredxheart.  I can never tell if it's my crappy monitor or if some pics are dark.

beautifulloser - the tote is a skipping bag - easy to make, very useful and sturdy as heck!

whole grouping:  skipping bag with Cedric's tombstone on it, cedric doll (no face!), Ron cards, HP wordsearch book and Wizard Rock CD:

This is a close up of a few of the Ron cards.  I think I ended up duplicating 3 pictures.  But that's not bad when you're doing 52 of them!!

I'm glad you liked everything!  Happy Swapping!!
5499  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions / HELP! I ruined the finish on wooden bowls! on: June 25, 2006 01:40:32 PM
I got a set of 6 wooden bowls at a garage sale, stuck them in the dishwasher aannnnddd....you got it - the finish came off!  There is still finish on the outside and inside bottom, but not the sides. They look horrible.  We had planned on taking these to our pre-1840's camping.  We can only use pewter (i think it's pewter) and wooden food items.  How can I fix these so that they can be used and don't look horrible?

Thanks in advance for any help!
