1  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions / Cannot find fusible fleece!! on: June 03, 2007 09:07:47 AM
I make and sell handbags and use lots of fusible fleece, in particular HTC9720 fusible fleece.  I noticed recently when I bought some at Joann and Walmart that the quality for this fleece has changed considerably.  It is noticably thinner and there is hardly any glue on it to fuse to the fabric.  Has anyone noticed this problem?  Also, if you know anywhere to buy this fleece, I would greatly appreciate it.  Do you know any good substitutes?  Help!

2  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / I'm feeling overwhelmed! When to hire extra help on: May 24, 2007 10:44:16 AM
First of all I'm not complaining, I need some advice, especially from handbag designers.  I sell handbags on etsy.  I know I would sell more if I had more purses listed.  It just that it takes time to sew the bags and time to upload items to site.  Also, I'm extremely busy in my hometown.  My business has exploded overnight.  I am receiving calls everyday from at least 1-2 people wanting to book my design a purse parties.  Right now, I can only handle 1 a week and kind of keep up with orders.  I give everyone 3-4 weeks to received their order.  I'm feeling like I'm at a point where I need to get some extra help with sewing, etc to keep up with my business and my family.  I have so many ideas floating in my head and not enough time to implement them.  So what do you think.  Any advice from anyone that has been in this situation with their biz.   Should I hire the extra help and do you think it will be profitable to do so?
3  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Tips for Participating in Craft Fairs / Any tips for an in home craft boutique on: February 08, 2007 09:44:53 AM
I want to host a Spring Fling in my home showcasing my handmade purses and accessories.  I would also like to invite a few other designers to show their items also.  Any tips from marketing, organizing, setup.

Thanks
4  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Tips for Participating in Craft Fairs / Ideas for October Bazaar on: September 02, 2006 10:29:31 PM
I'm in charge of our churchs bazaar.  Church members donate craft items for me to sell at our table.  Problem, the crafts are mostly (well nicely, old-fashioned) and I need some easy hip craft projects that I can make quickly and cheaply.  Halloween and Thanksgiving crafts seem to go the best.  Thanks for your tips.
