1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / darts on: February 19, 2007 10:43:23 AM
I am thinking about making something like this:
http://www.chadwicks.com/product.aspx?PfId=9799&DeptId=8561&producttypeid=1&PurchaseType=0

I wonder if any of you know the basic shape that I would need to cut for the front to get the darts in.

Thanks
2  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing Machines: Discussion and Questions / Euro Pro Serger on: October 13, 2006 07:55:14 AM
So I found an add for a Euro Pro Serger: Style 100-547H fir $100.  Should I got for it?  Does anyone have one?  Do you like it?  Is this a good price?  Please reply soon, if it is a good deal it will be gone.
3  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / xmas gift for brother in law on: August 18, 2006 10:56:36 AM
Need ideas please.  He is 40 something, likes southern rock, action movies, video games, motorcycles, tattoos, was in a cover band.  By day he is a drywaller and painter.  My budget is limited ($25).  Any ideas?
4  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / xmas gift for reitred dad on: August 18, 2006 10:52:16 AM
Hey all, I need some ideas.  My dad turns 60 this year, he likes trains, reading, music, movies (rented, not theater).  Although he is retired he still does some construction/building work.  I am on a pretty tight budget, any ideas?
5  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / too small a line skirts on: June 23, 2006 11:26:48 AM
so I have a couple skirts, you know the type, long a-line that everyone was wearing with twin sets a while back.  The problem is the waist is too small now.  I was thinking cutting off the top of the skirt down to the bottom of the zipper then making a new elastic waist at that point.  Do you think this would work?
6  CLOTHING / Clothing Sewalongs / Everyone needs a shirt right? on: June 22, 2006 02:52:37 PM
How about sewing this one with me?  Simplicity New Look 6598.  I know it isn't real exciting, but I bet you crafty folks could make it fabulous.

I have an old sheet I am going to use first to get the fit right, ( I am going to try view E first).  Then I think I am going to use the material from some big frumpy denim shirts I have in the closet that I never wear (probably view B).

I might start cutting tomorrow night, or maybe not we are having a yard sale this weekend and there are some last minute things to do for that.

I hope you will join me, like I said everyone needs a shirt, and this is a classic shape, a good staple for any wardrobe.
7  CLOTHING / Clothing for Curvaceous Craftsters: Discussion and Questions / puffed sleeves? on: June 22, 2006 09:09:07 AM
I am a big gal with a question.  I am about 5'6" and 210.  I used to be an hourglass, but my waist is catching up with my hips.   Are puffed sleeves flattering for me?   Also what about a puff sleeve with ties on the outside (if you know what I mean)...Like New Look #6407 view D

Does anyone have a tut or pattern suggestion?  I am a beginner so it will have to be pretty detailed.
9  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / skirt from jeans, bla bla bla on: March 17, 2006 05:21:28 AM
I know, boring, but this is my first.  I don't think I will wear it though, it is a little wonky.

Hope the pics work, its my first time for that also.
10  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / make zipper pants from drawstring pattern on: March 08, 2006 10:39:36 AM
Hey There,
I just finished a pair of drawstring shorts from Simplicity 7092, but they are very bulky around the waist.  I sure as heck don't need any extra bulk there.  So I am wondering how I could change the top of the pattern to make them more fitted with a waistband and zipper?  Can anyone help me?
