1  Re: come one! come all! post pics of your tattoos! in Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects by gerbilonwheels on: May 03, 2006 09:54:42 AM
bambikhastic- I <3 your tattoos.

Here is a bad camera phone photo of my new tattoo. It's a lot cleaner than it looks (the camera blurs lines)

I'll change the photo to a better one when my new digi cam gets here. I'm just so excited about it. I had to post. ^_^

Also, one of my friends told me that 20% of people with neck tattoos go insane. Does anyone know about this? She heard it from one of her bio teachers. It seems like a rediculously high statistic, but I was just wondering. I don't want to go insane. lol O_o

OK THESE are the stitch markers I sent Gerbilionwheels

ooo~! They are so terrific! I've used the llama twice now. Smiley

I received a t-shirt from LaurieMK  (I think that screen name is correct?) today! It's is super cute. It has an iron on of an image I wanted on it with penguins standing on an iceberg. Do you have a photo of it? It's on a Mossimo t-shirt which, after two awesome t-shirts from craftsters, I really like the feel of. It's soooo soft. The only down side is that my stupid bosom ripped the picture a little already. grrrrr

I received my wonderful stenciled t-shirt from irrid3c3nt (sp?)! It is terrific and so uber nerdy. I <3 it. (This statement will be so much punnier when I get a photo of the t-shirt up.) Do you have one, Irri? I'll take one tonight with my phone.  The shirt is white with a human heart stenciled over my heart and says, "You make my C.O. (cardiac output) increase." This is a super nerdy bio/love joke. (Nerds like boys, too ^_^) When you're excited, input from your sympathetic nervous system to the heart increases causing the release of norepinephrine. This increases contractility which in turn increases cardiac output. hehehe ooo I love it, and it's so soft! Okay here's a boob shot of the stenciling! Sorry for that, but I'm already wearing the shirt. hehe

Here is a photo of my tattoo all nice and new and crusty.^_^ My friend Andrew sent me this doodle he drew one day, and I knew I just had to have it. Sorry it's such a bad photo. I'll replace the link with a better one when I get one.

5  Trent Reznor Sweater in Knitting: Discussion and Questions by gerbilonwheels on: February 13, 2006 02:49:18 PM
My little sister wants me to knit her this sweater.

I think I know how I'm going to do it, but I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations on how to make the hem look so tattered without it unraveling? Also, how should I gauge something such random tensions? I have a feeling my sweater will end up looking a lot "cleaner" than this.

6  Re: This THING!? What could I do with it? in What the heck can I do with THIS? by gerbilonwheels on: February 10, 2006 10:33:51 PM

This is molding media used with acrylic paint. So I'm talking about making a painting and making it to kinda look like the map below. The media is used to build up height and sculpt in a painting. You can also use it to secure these little capsules to the painting. So you could use a combo of the paste and the caps to build height on the painting for the mountainy parts. Oh! What a weird idea, but strangely the more I type it, the more I want one. hahaha

7  Re: Show off your hair! And questions about hair styles! in Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions by gerbilonwheels on: February 10, 2006 08:50:47 PM
Since I have posted so many times on this thread, I might as well post my new hair. ^_^ I don't have any photos of the awesome new dye job, but here is before the major dye job (it's already dyed brown) with me looking kinda rough from work.

8  Skull and cross bones hat in Knitting: Completed Projects by gerbilonwheels on: January 06, 2006 10:52:23 AM
I got the idea originally from this posting. http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=70428.0;all
I used the skull chart from this bag. http://www.helloyarn.com/miniskulltote.htm
I look kinda sickly in the photo but just ignore that. It's the camera phone working it's sick magic. Maybe I'll take a better photo of it later? I need a digi cam  Undecided

9  Knitted Thong WARNING CRUDE LANGUAGE in Knitting: Completed Projects by gerbilonwheels on: January 06, 2006 10:48:08 AM
This is a joke gift for my roommate. Yesterday I finished up knitting a dog sweater for my grandmother's dog, Prissy. Using intarsia, I wrote "I <3 Prissy" on the back of the sweater. Unfortunately, it looks like "I <3 pussy" and it's so funny and embarrassing at the same time. My roommates were joking about it and so I asked if they wanted sweaters like it. My roommate's big come back was that she was going to learn how to knit so she could knit me a sweater that says,"My grandmother <3s pussy." So, as a result of this conversation, I made her these.  Grin The photos are bad because it's my camera phone, Undecided but you'll get the idea. The heart looks a lot better actually and there is no curling (like it appears to be doing in the photos.

10  Re: Making ? Roving ? out of manufactured wool? in Felting: Discussion and Questions by gerbilonwheels on: December 26, 2005 01:02:16 PM
I felt with my wire ballroom dancing shoe brush, so I don't see why a pet brush wouldn't work. Lamb's Pride yarn will work to pull apart and felt. I've done that before. If you have access to roving though it would be better, because then you don't waste your time pulling the yarn apart etc.
