(The actors who played the Russian pilots totally retweeted these!!! Such fan whirling!)
2  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / PPDC Pacific Rim Logo or "We have cancelled the embroidery apocalypse!" on: September 20, 2013 09:55:50 PM
Hello, it has been a long time since I had a project that I was happy enough with to share here.

I wanted a patch for my bag of the PPDC Ranger logo from my most favorite movie ever Pacific Rim.

I started out with painting the logo on some stiffened crinoline/huckcloth material with acrylic paints. I have had bad experiances with Sharpie transferring onto the threads because of my sweaty fingers in the past.

I filled in with satin stitch, three strands.

Then finished the details and borders with stem stitch.

I can't decide if I want this on my bag or on a khaki jacket for a little informal cosplay. Thanks for looking!
3  Halloween / Halloween Decor and Parties / Halloween Treat Bag on: April 18, 2007 04:36:31 PM
This was something I made last year for my son to take trick or treating.
It is made of wool felt and had stitched with embroidery floss. Surprisingly it has lasted well, there's not a stitch gone loose after a year of hard play. It is my son's satchel for carrying his fake/felt foods and trinkets. It was based on a trivet design in a Better Homes Halloween issue.
4  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / My first Craftser post! Jewel embroidered trinket/headband on: April 18, 2007 04:23:43 PM
I beg your patience, for I'm still figuring out the interface here. This project was cross-posted on Craftgrrl. I'm happy to report that the elastic and the crimps have held on marvelously and are quite durable and comfortable.
