1  my first socks! in Knitting: Completed Projects by kdigggs on: November 02, 2006 07:10:00 AM
my first socks...unofficial "socktoberfest" since i'm 2 days late!

i'm pretty pleased, except the yarn wasn't that great. a lot of "blobs" of color, but it was a good way to learn!

anyone know of a good tutorial for grafting toes?  that was a little rough!

thanks for looking!

2  Trellis from Knitty in Knitting: Completed Projects by kdigggs on: October 22, 2006 11:40:53 AM
Completed!  It's been sitting, unseamed for a couple of months while I putzed around with other things.  Good thing it doesn't have an owner--they would have outgrown it!  I just wanted the challenge--and it was so darn cute.  My question:  anyone know of a similar pattern for an adult??  Has anyone made this in an adult size and can give me some pointers???  I've never altered a pattern that much!!

and the back--the picture of the back on knitty.com is what made me want to make this in the first place!

thanks for looking!!

3  Re: 'Knitting Olympics' knitalong in Knitalongs by kdigggs on: February 24, 2006 07:08:36 PM
I'm done with my Olympic project!  I knitted a cabled belt out of Vogue Knitting: Weekend Knits, using Sugar and Cream in ecru.  It wasn't a super huge project, but it was a challenge for me.  But I came out of it confident about cables and following a pattern!  There are more pictures on my blog.

4  Re: Projects from "Last Minute Knitted Gifts" in Knitting: Completed Projects by kdigggs on: February 04, 2006 09:29:04 AM
I love this book, so I really love seeing everyone's take on the patterns!  I wanted to make the baby booties, but being the ever-practical gal I am, I just couldn't bring myself to use angora for something a baby will wear!!  I made them in acrylic--white baby yarn and some green "peach fuzz" to give them a fuzzy look.  Now they can be spit-up on by baby and washed easily by a busy mom!

5  Re: panta! (from a finnish pattern). in Knitting: Completed Projects by kdigggs on: January 28, 2006 07:59:01 AM
Here's mine!  I used Caron Simply Soft...wool makes me too itchy when I wear it on my head!  I must say that I love this thread--what a fun, functional, easy-to-knit idea!  I wear mine all the time with my tweedy brown coat--I've had so many compliments and I've already made one as a gift and I'm working on another one (in pink) for myself!

6  "The Cat" messenger bag--inspired by this board!! in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by kdigggs on: November 26, 2005 03:48:41 PM
I think I've been pretty productive over this Thanksgiving holiday!! Huge thanks to the people on this board posting helpful hints and tutorials.  This is sort of a mish-mash of ideas I got by lurking on this board and putting several things together.  It's basically a HUGE jordy-type bag, but I added a flap and a pocket in the lining.  Big firsts for me!  It was fun to do this pocket--look who peeks out at you!!

I would consider myself a cat lover, but this is a gift for someone obsessed with her cats!!  Probably the only person who would actually carry it, too!!! Thanks again for everyone who posts projects here, to inspire my own!!
