thanks very much, sorry those pics are gone forever in the internet abyss. The leopard stuff might go in the craft show this weekend but if not I'll post more for my etsy shop

thank you thank you thank you!
I've been using one-shot for my newer designs but I try to keep the colors really bright, I think it makes them a little more unique compared to painted purses you see around. I'm not afraid of 5 coats!

I know exactly what you're talking about!

These look really, really good. You've inspired me to try this out when I get a chance.

Cool Wow...way kewl...I always wanted to be Peg Bundy for Halloween...so glad I joined this site and saw that you were her!!!   Does my heart good  Grin

yay thanks! when I went to get the wig at Johnny Brocks the wig counter person (who was very nice and helpful) said something to the effect of "oh that's the wrong wig, I've already helped like 5 girls today who are going to be Peg Bundy" as well as the girl next to me telling me "oh I was going to be Peg Bundy but then I decided to be Jessica Rabbit"
I thought there were going to be a million of us but I was the only one I saw! And only 2 people the whole night didn't know immediately who I was.
15  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Re: Muppets Statler and Waldorf (In process photos added)(Older costumes added) on: November 06, 2008 10:38:05 AM
ALL the muppet costumes are completely great! I just started making puppets so I know all about the burned fingers & all the hard work, color me impressed!

oh, i love the pictures!  where might one find a similar book with those types of pictures in it?

thanks! here's one of the books most tattoo shops use for reference http://www.superiortattoo.com/ProductInfo.aspx?productid=R109&utm_source=googlebase&utm_medium=feed, there's a pink covered book & a blue covered book. I used a different book for my reference but they're all over amazon

Wow!  Those are great.  Very professional looking and classy.  I would love to be that talented.  Smiley

thanks! you'd be amazed how blurry the line is between 'talent' and 'obsessive compulsive', and by that I mean OCD is usually conveniently disguised as talent  Wink

hahahaha, yay! I'm' so glad you guys liked it! I'll admit this was probably one of the most fun costumes I've ever had.

My boyfriend couldn't be Al because his band played and he needed to wear a suit for a thing they were doing (& Saturday he had to work). I got many offers for Al after the fact, but I thought it would have been funnier to go with Ted Bundy. No takers on either, oh well!
19  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / vintage flatware holder & art journal a la sailor jerry! on: November 03, 2008 11:25:40 PM
so I dug up a book of sailor jerry stencils at the shop a few weeks ago and I found a TON of inspiration for some new pieces!

here's the vintage flatware caddy:

and a close-up

and here's an art journal, I wanted to keep it for myself but you know how it is...

here's the inside, this used to be an old cash log book but I think it's much cooler and better served for poignant thoughts and introspective sketching

let me know what you think!

20  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Pottery, Ceramics, etc: Completed Projects / Re: "Mom" tattoo cover-up on repurposed mug on: November 03, 2008 10:50:06 PM
Aw thanks Smiley
Hmmm I followed the directions to a T. I let it sit in the oven while it was heating up and while it was cooling down, until the cup was cool to the touch again, and baked it exactly as long as it said to. So I think next time I should keep that in mind...bake it longer. I've never put ceramics (or paint!) in the oven, so I was worried I would screw it up somehow.
Anyhoo, you're awsome and such an inspiration so thanks  Grin

thank you! I'm a firm believer that directions were made to be tweaked Smiley granted I've probably almost seriously injured or killed myself a time or 2 by ignoring directions (or warning labels) but I'm richer for the experience.
