It's Jo-Ann Sensations Thick 'N Thin Yarns which I might add is now on sale for 3.99 a skein.  I may go get more in different colors.
173  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Handwarmers - Thick n Thin on: February 17, 2006 06:24:04 AM

I made these using thick n thin to keep my hands warm in my freezing cold office so I can work and be warm at the same time.

Very cute.  I bought yarn similar to this and am making hand warmers...hopefully this weekend.  Will post pix when complete.
175  FIBER ARTS / Weaving: Completed Projects / Re: Swedish Weaving Blanket on: January 20, 2006 12:49:03 PM
I first learned this art form in 5th grade. My teacher made all of us (boys included) do dish towels.  I still have two of the three and I think one of my sisters has the other one.

These were done on huck which is heavier with much closer floats that monks.  And rather hard to find these days.

Your blanket is beautiful.

I use flax (get it at the health food store) instead of rice.  It is lighter in weight and the aroma of the lavendar (or whatever else you want to add) comes through cleaner.  I may make some of these to send to neices liiving in cold cities.
177  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Re: "_____ in a box" gift ideas. on: November 09, 2005 10:46:49 AM
Ooh, great ideas. I really like the indulgence in a box. The other idea I had was "ROAD TRIP" in a box because she is going to be driving cross country. But I could only think of a few things to put in there (gift certificates to cracker barrel and road trip bingo). Any ideas?

178  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions / Tin ceiling tiles on: November 09, 2005 10:34:47 AM
I bought two ceiling tins...about 24*48 from an old Episcopal church.  They need to flattened out a bit and then pressure washed (I guess) and painted. I want to be somewhat gentle so I don't make them worse in the flattening and washing process so if anyone has any ideas, in the words of Dubya, bring 'em on.
