21  Re: Christmas Stocking Swap 3 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by BrushfireFaeries on: December 28, 2007 07:25:33 AM
Here is the stocking I sent to kahluakiggy, as well as one of the Harry Potter ornaments I made her. I didn't take photos of everything I sent, but I know she's intending to post at some point so you will see all of that later on.

It's taken me ages to get these photos up. I only have a digital camera at work and was having some issues. Anyway, my lovely stocking and goodies from kahluakiggy:

She sent me a super soft, bright colored stocking, handpainted ornaments and tealight holders, four pairs of beautiful earrings, a recipe box, a frame for a picture of my dog, treats for my dog, a pencil/makeup/etc. case, and lots of extras, including candy and soaps.

Thanks Tara! I love it all. I hope everyone had a very happy holiday!

23  Etched Martini Glasses in Glass Crafts: Completed Projects by BrushfireFaeries on: December 26, 2007 06:48:45 PM
I made a few etched martini glasses to go with some fun martini mixes I bought for friends for Christmas. They didn't photograph real well... They weren't as blotchy looking in real life, however they were a little blotchy. Still looked cool, but any suggestions on how to get a nice, clean, even looking etch?

Anyway, without further ado...

24  First Craft Show in Tips for Participating in Craft Fairs by BrushfireFaeries on: October 25, 2007 01:06:07 PM
I was in my first craft show earlier this month. I made some crafts with my boyfriend's mom, and our main focus were little beaded lampshades for electric candles. They're very pretty, especially when it's dark. You can't really tell in the photos. We also had record bowls, scarves and polymar pins. (I posted pics of the polymar pins in the polymar message board.)

For our first little show, I think we did ourselves proud!

25  Holiday pins :) in Polymer Clay: Completed Projects by BrushfireFaeries on: October 25, 2007 12:56:30 PM
I made these holiday pins for a recent craft show I was in. They are done with sculpy and sprayed shiny. I think when I make more I'm going to do some of them with sparkly paint, like the trees and candy canes and maybe some snowmen. Sorry the santa is blurry, and for some reason I couldn't get my pumpkin and candy cane to upload onto photobucket. Here's what I do have:

holly and berries

reindeer

rudolph

snowman

santa

tree

bat

Thanks for looking!

26  One fish, two fish... in Dessert by BrushfireFaeries on: August 12, 2007 07:37:47 PM
I made and donated this cake to my college's Dr. Seuss Day celebration a couple years back. The kids that attended got to vote for their favorite cake and mine won first prize!

28  Re: Martha Stewart's Good Things Swap Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by BrushfireFaeries on: May 15, 2007 02:32:57 PM
My long-awaited good things have arrived! mommys little badass originally crafted some amazing items for me and the package was lost enroute. She and nasty_wench (we were in a round robin) recrafted for me, which was totally unnecessary but I must say I'm pleased as punch! Everything they sent was awesome!

From mommys little badass:

A scented sachet

The cutest owl hat ever

(For some reason my photo of the very cool pin cushion wouldn't upload to photobucket... do you happen to have one, Miguette?)

From nasty_wench:

Card organizer (front)

Card organizer (inside)

Ribbon bookmark

And silly me forgot to take a photo of the wonderful handmade cards she made! I'm going to post photos tomorrow of the pin cushion, cards and me wearing the owl hat.

Thank you so much you guys! I *love* everything.

29  Re: Felt Mascot or Little Stuffie Swap R3 Foods! -- Gallery in The Swap Gallery by BrushfireFaeries on: April 25, 2007 02:50:33 PM
I received from midnight today! She made me such an amazing package and I am so, so, so excited. I've been showing everyone at work. Smiley I told her that I'm going to be opening a cafe/bakery in a few years, so this is what I received...

The box:

When I opened it:

The adorable tea bag:

A yummy cannoli:

Blueberry pie:

And (my favorite) the cupcake:

In the bottom of the box, I was surprised to find this cute apron! It looks so cute on - sorry I don't have a picture of that, but here it is:

Thanks so much, midnight! You're a terrific partner!

30  Re: Felt Mascot or Little Stuffie Swap R2 -- Gallery!! in The Swap Gallery by BrushfireFaeries on: March 22, 2007 08:55:35 PM
Gusset has arrived! This little tropical dachsund sauntered into town earlier this week, but I wasn't able to snap his photo until today! He is the absolute cutest little thing with a happy sunshine-y gold and red material and adorable floppy ears. I just love him to pieces. And without further ado...

And the creative genious of susanab didn't stop with just Gusset! She also sent along a handsewn oversized pouch made of cute black and white dog-inspired material with a purple drawstring, a matching luggage tag (all set with my address!), a bone-shaped treat pouch for my pooch Piper and, of course, a dog-boned shape note. It was all too much! (Treat pouch is missing in the photo... Piper and I had to fill it and bring it along to the dog park already!)

And the introduction of Gusset to Piper. She took to him well. Just after I snapped the photo she gave him a generous love-bite to the head.

And now Piper thinks Gusset is her new toy. I'm going to have to keep a very careful eye on my new little pal.

Thanks so much, susanab! Gusset is just perfect. Smiley
