if I can scrounge up enough money for the yarn then I'm in
I was thinking of butterfly super 10 cotton
http://www.handknitting.com/Yarn/Cotton-Yarn/Super-10-mercerized-cotton-yarn

maybe using one of the pale yellows

but I'll need about 8 skeins which should set me back at least $90

I love these big projects but my wallet cant always handle the pressure!

what are you guys thinking by way of materials.

you guys were right
I was counting that st left over on the needle as one of the k sts after the bindoff

oops

sorry to make such a big stink!

baby-doll dress here I come

I'm sure its the pattern

see:

you have 13 sts on your needle

bind off 3 sts,     = 3 sts
k2,                    = 2sts
yo, p2tog,          = 2sts
SK2P,                = 3 sts
yo, p2tog,          = 2 sts
--------------------------
9 sts left           12 sts used

there is one extra unused stitch

I was a little confused about it at first as well

but still use up 3 sts and leave you with one

sigh

19  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: lace edging problem....is the pattern wrong? on: May 05, 2007 02:49:47 PM
there are no posted corrections on the website

I've sent them an email......but.....who knows
I have sent them info about corrections before and received no reply and noticed no updates on their site.

I was thinking that maybe the k2 after the bind off sts might be a k2tog....

I just don't know

and since its lace I don't want to try to figure it out by myself

yeesh! Sad
20  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / lace edging problem....is the pattern wrong? on: May 05, 2007 10:35:57 AM
Hi there! Grin

I am tackling the babydoll dress from the latest spring/summer 07' issue of vogue knitting. ( its on the cover )

http://www.vogueknitting.com/200703/index.shtml

and I am having a bit of trouble with the pattern

for the lace edging around the sleeves it gives you a 6 row pattern repeat, which works fine until the 6th row

the instructions are as follows

cast on 8 sts
Row 1: Yo, p2tog, (k1, p1, k1, p1, k1) in the next st, yo, p2tog, k1, yo 3 times, k2 -15sts.

Row 2: K3, p1, k2, yo, p2tog, k5, yo, p2tog - 15 sts.

Row 3: Yo, p2tog, k5, yo, p2tog, k6 - 15 sts.

Row 4: K6, yo, p2tog, k5, yo p2tog - 15 sts.

Row 5: Yo, p2tog, ssk, k1, k2tog, yo, k2tog, k6 - 13 sts.

Row 6: Bind off 3 sts, k2, yo, p2tog, SK2P, yo, p2tog - 8 sts.

my problem is that when you add up all the sts used in row 6 it only adds up to 12....and if you manage to finish that row you have 9 sts which is one too many to restart the repeat...

AM I CRAZY HERE

any help would be great!

Thanks
