well on the first end, i put three in the end chain and then worked up as i went around. my first row was treble crochet, and that helped to fan it out. but later on i worked up, adding 2 in a few stitches around the end, then three or at the very end to widen the curve. the ends are actually the only part that doesn't curl! ha! i think i overdid the increases though. the second scarf will be better. sorry for the slowness and general crappiness of the picture. but until i get a better one (and fix the curling of course) here is what it looks like. note the curling on the right hand side   ...

this is a fun & quick thing to do.







tutorial is simple:
1-find a cool matchbook (the hardest part!)
2-take out the staple from the matches, unfold, and measure the size the pictures will need to be. leave a little room at the top for the fold not to interfere.
3-cut the photos (photo booth pictures work best b/c you're already in a series of movements that is flip-book-ey). i found that staggering the thumb end just slightly made them flip more smoothly.
4-re-staple. ta da!

i sew the ribbon onto webbing first so that the belt is tougher. wrap it over the loose end of the belt so it's purty.
