2  miss bettie knitting bag! in Stenciling: Completed Projects by katiegolightly on: January 10, 2006 10:42:45 PM
got bored today, so i made this for myself:

i didn't really take my time, so the mouth got a little messed up, but i still like it.
i got the stencil from stencilry.

i was thinking about adding two knitting needles crossed at the bottom for a skull and crossbones type look, what do you think?  would it be too much?

[EDIT:] i added the knitting needles today!

3  felt horror brooches! in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by katiegolightly on: January 06, 2006 04:04:27 PM
so i got bored today, and made some fancy brooches!
first, i took this picture of the bride of frankenstein:

i cut it out, glued it to the back of one of those fancy marbles (eg, the ones you use to make marble magnets) got fancy with the felt, and ended up with this!

here's a terrible closeup of the center:

feeling confidant, i made a second, this time using this picture:

because i mean, who doesn't love vampira?
anyway, here's what i came up with:

(sorry the lightning is so bad in these, i forgot to turn the flash on.  tee hee.)

enjoy!

4  stencil fabulous! ben folds, alyson hannigan and yoda :) in Stenciling: Completed Projects by katiegolightly on: December 18, 2005 09:37:26 PM

^^this was the first one i (okay, my bf and i) did.  i used spray paint and those plastic stencil sheets.  the stencil moved while it was being painted, hence the blurry lines.

^^this is by far my favorite.  i used acrylic paint and good ol' paper and scissors.  i pinned the paper down using thumbtacks ... not the most practical method, but i am really happy with it.

^^the eyes in this one look a little terrifying, but i'm going to touch them up with some white paint and hopefully it won't end up in the stitch and botch category   Undecided

what do you guys think?
