if we were to have a 3-4 week crafting period though, shouldn't sign ups be happening soon?  i may potentially be willing to try my hand as a co-organiser, but i've never done it before.
23  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / Talk About The Swap Process / Re: The expenses of swapping... on: June 03, 2008 04:56:51 AM
i am totally hopeless with money. i alwys go out and buy supplies only to come home and find out i have them, or buy too much of something.  i don't have a huge stash either, so i have to buy lots of stuff specifically for swaps.  for a regular sized swap (not a mini one) i usually spend between $40-60 on everything including supplies and shipping (this is aussie dollars though and the australian postal service is a f***ing ripoff!!!). i also basically never get paired up with anybody even in the southern hemisphere (i always ask - but usually no-one signs up from my end of the earth).  if i can keep the package flat and under 500g i can save between $5-15 on postage too, which is good.

the most i ever spent on a package was about $80 but that was because the shipping was like $50 Shocked

Ya can't get anything good where I'm at! My FIL brings me back Cadbury Dairy Milk Chocolates from the Canadian border when he goes there for work, but that is about the best I can get!!!
guess there's always hershey's milk duds - which were frikken awesome btw!!  i found a shop in melbourne that sells imported chocolates and lollies including these. they charge really over the top prices, but i think it might be worth it LOL

it seems so odd to me that you can't get violet crumble in the states. can you get any kind of honeycomb like crunchies or something? if not, i feel sop sorry for you guys. it's the best!

Awesome! Have you tasted the Pollywaffle yet? What is it?

Awful.

I had my first one last Monday and I was terribly disappointed. It sounded so promising as well - chocolate, and a wafer tube with a marshmallow filling.

It's a pity, coz our Aussie lollies and choccy bars usually go down a right treat.
well i like them. when i stayed over at my nana's hosue as a kid, we would walk to the supermarket and get one choclate each. i liked to get pollywaffles. they've been around for ages (since my mum was a kid). i was trying to get a good sample of chocolate you can't get in the states.

so glad you liked the second package AlwaysInspired!!!! this swap was awesome.
