Had you thought about sewing a contrasting ribbon to the back of the button band? I've found it adds some stiffness to the band which helps to avoid the gaping.. also gives your hard-earned sweater a little bit of extra spiffy.

I agree with the old married lady  Cheesy If spouses agree..

But I also wanted to point out that I hadn't read your first post when I saw the four pictures, and I didn't notice the heart shadow until I looked at picture #3. I think that one really gets the image you're going for nicely.

BWAHAHAHA!  Cheesy

I love hims! My DH and I were looking over the non-work safe instructions, and we have decided we must have one for our very own. There is nothing more classy than a knitted man with a pipe-cleaner woody. GENIUS!

Thank you for sharing him!
17  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Re: my first monster swears!! on: December 23, 2007 11:37:01 PM
I LOVE him! Oooh, it's just so perfect in it's irreverent simplicity.

I must make one of my own, thank you for sharing! Cheesy
18  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: Pretty Puff Slouchy Hat UPDATE: Pattern added on: December 22, 2007 01:08:50 PM
I made one too! The Misti Alpaca I used is soft and squishy to no end, but I think I'm going to try making another with a stiffer yarn.. perhaps Malabrigo? Mmmmmmm.

I think I also skipped an increase round, as I thought it was looking mighty big. Now that I've finished I see that wasn't the best idea.. Mine didn't come out quite as slouchy as others. Anyhoo, here's a picture!

And, because I was feeling a little goofy.. I present puffy slouchy hat and.. the BLUE STEELE!

19  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Blythe Doll - Holiday theme swap - Gallery on: December 15, 2007 05:28:14 PM
Hi All! I received Harrison's parcel from Loves2experiement on Tuesday, but alas and alack! my camera has died.. I'm so sorry Loves2!

Until my new camera arrives (it was time anyway, and yay for free next day shipping at dell.com!) I wanted to tell you all about what a darling Missy Loves2 is Smiley Harry was spoiled by not one, but TWO beautifully made dresses. A simple blue baby-doll, and the most adorable brown corduroy's you ever did see. She has not put down that corduroy dress since it arrived in the mail! Included with the dresses was a simple white t-shirt, a pair of green mary-janes, (shoes, woot!) a lovely necklace, and hair clips!

I know what you're thinking.. what a spoiled girl.. but that's not all! Loves2 also included a hank of her very own hand-dyed yarn. Yours truly got something fun the mail too! It's a lovely pale pink color, and I keep picking it up and feeling it and putting it down. I can't decide what to make with it!  Cheesy

I'll have pictures up soon, but just wanted to pop in and tell you all what a wonderful swapper Loves2 is! Smiley What a great swap everyone, can't wait for the next one!!
