2  Re: Chocoholics Unanimous Round 2! Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by nevergirl on: February 12, 2008 08:24:28 PM
So I've been sitting here for days trying to figure out what the heck is wrong with my laptop.. My images wouldn't download from my memory card no matter what I did! WHY?!? *sob!*

And then tonight I was giving it another try and DOH!  Undecided I couldn't download the pictures from my card, because I had already downloaded them days ago!! ..they were sitting in my image folder waiting all nice and patient. Yeeps! I need the award for most chocolate-induced braindeadness, yes?

SOO, onto the pictures!! I received from Loops (all the way from the UK to the USA) on Saturday.. and boy oh boy folks.. be nice here, it's her first time swapping and we don't want to scare her away.. Cause she is a rocking swapper! My chocolates.. Ooooh, let me share them with you.

So here's the package, quite unassuming from the outside you might say..

But then EEEEEEP, open it up and chocolate bursts out everywhere! Along with some mysterious packages.. Oooh.

Package number 1! Filled with even more goodies.. and seriously, the best crafty I have ever received in a swap. This bag is awesome, more pictures below, but OMG, Loops is a master crafter.

OMG, even more chocolate inside!! (you understand now why my brain hasn't been working so well this week now, yes?)

Mystery packages number 2 & 3 are sweet! A beautiful hand-bound notebook and a CHOCOLATE ZOMBIE MAN! AHHHHH!

Chunk is THE coolest. Check out the hand-stitched details! He is so my favorite little plaything at work! All of my coworkers come out to check out my new toys (yes i have a lot of toys at work Cheesy) and all agree Chunk has the best personality. He's actually quite cheeky when you get to know him.

So check out this bag! Seriously folks, we're talking swap-orgasm here, this bag is AWEsome. Not only does it have a magnetic closure(!!), zippered pocketses, and fabric to die for...

LOOK AT THESE DETAILS! Okay, am I the only crafty geek in here who drools over stiching? I hope not, cause I've totally taken some stitch-porn pictures for your enjoyment. Loops is a fabulous crafter, and this is a totally excellent bag! I am just in love and so darn lucky to have had her as a partner. (neat fact: the bag is in my wedding colors! and we're having cupcakes at the reception! a wedding notepad and an official wedding bag, all in the nick of time! you'd think she had ESP or something..)

Loops, I sincerely hope you never experience swap anxiety again, cause you are a star! I am so overjoyed with our swap, and I loved having you as a partner! Thank you for being patient with my pre-wedding spazzness!! And just well, thank you for being YOU!

And thank you to our swap organizers, you guys are superstars! BEST SWAP EVER.

3  Re: Pretty Puff Slouchy Hat UPDATE: Pattern added in Crochet: Completed Projects by nevergirl on: December 22, 2007 01:08:50 PM
I made one too! The Misti Alpaca I used is soft and squishy to no end, but I think I'm going to try making another with a stiffer yarn.. perhaps Malabrigo? Mmmmmmm.

I think I also skipped an increase round, as I thought it was looking mighty big. Now that I've finished I see that wasn't the best idea.. Mine didn't come out quite as slouchy as others. Anyhoo, here's a picture!

And, because I was feeling a little goofy.. I present puffy slouchy hat and.. the BLUE STEELE!

I received an awesome knitted blanket from nevergirl.  It is purple and so very very soft!  I love it!

YAY! Cheesy I'm so glad you love it. It was a really great pattern and I had a lot of fun knitting it up for you. I took some pictures before I packaged everything off, so I'll share mine!

May it always keep those toes of yours warm & cosy! Smiley

Special kudos to Nikkidear for putting up with my spazzness (I shipped late, noooo!) during this swap. You were a great swap partner, and I hope you loved the package!

I received last week from milwjamie, but since I wasn't done with my crafting yet I couldn't bear to open the package until I mailed out hers.

Welp, it's mail-out day! YAY! Inside just about the coolest wrist-cuff case were these adorable stitch markers dangling with little mittens, sweaters and socks! These are so cute.. and they look like you made them from scratch? Awesome!

And of course you were right, the container was totally my favorite part.. ACTION SHOT!

Yeah.. who's bad?

Thank you Jamie!!

8  Re: Felt Mascot or Little Stuffie Swap - R4 -- Gallery!! in The Swap Gallery by nevergirl on: June 23, 2007 07:14:28 PM
Ta-dah! Manny has entered the building!

I received today (well he arrived Wednesday, but I just got my hands on him this morning!) from Fluffybaka, and YAY! What a mouse! He's been taking some time getting comfortable.. poking around in my huge yarn stash (Mice, you know.. they like to nest..)

But, Manny was not the only surprise in my package, there were also some very beautiful felt coasters! Fluffybaka, they're gorgeous, I love them!!  Grin

Now I know what you're thinking.. Manny, cute little mouse, could he get more adorable? Well, I am sad to say that not five minutes after exploring the house, the little turd helped himself to a martini (chocolate-hazelnut, no doubt) and started gambling!!!  Shocked

I was shocked to say the least. But oh well.. what can you do? We all must have our little vices I suppose. Roll Eyes

He's adorable Fluffybaka, and again, LOVE the coasters. Thanks so much for being a great swap partner!!

progress! i'm loving this yarn. it's silky soft and really easy to work with (even though it has a tendency to split when i'm being extra lazy with my needles.. hehe) anyhoo, enough with the talk, here's a picture!

I couldn't resist! *jumps on the bandwagon* Had a lovely stash of Knitpicks Andean Treasure and it was begging to be made into something. I cut the width a bit and I'm planning on structuring it into a shrug of sorts when I get to the end..

I'm loving this pattern! It took getting about six inches into it before I got the hang of the pattern, but I get the feeling that now that I know it, I will never ever forget.

Help? Having some trouble dropping the stitches though, due to the graspy nature of the alpaca.. anyone have some advise on easing the stitch dropping with this kind of yarn? I'm finding it very tedious picking out each and every individual stitch out from the other *pulls hair in frustration!*
