4  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Completed Projects / Baseball/Plaid Pillow Polar Fleece First ever sewing proj! on: November 17, 2005 03:40:13 PM
Ok, my first ever project with my sewing machine (my first ever sewing machine! as a grown up. I used my mom's as a kid, and as some of you know, I didn't even know you were supposed to use bobbin thread!!!!)

Anyhow, I plan on making a throw for my nephew, too, but so far, I just made him this pillow. I made the outside and just cut the square bigger than a throw pillow i ordered online (and i hated the color when I got it so i stuffed it in this).  I made one square boston red sox (boo- i am a yankees fan hahahaha) and one a cool plaid flannel to give it flare.

thanks for letting me share.

6  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing Machines: Discussion and Questions / bobbin, what?... first time sewing on: November 05, 2005 10:51:03 PM
so it's my first time sewing as a grown up with a computerized sewing machine!

it's been 20 years since i cut up a pair of my jeans and made them up into a purse.

well, i never ever used a bobbin then, and i don;t really know what one is for. i've just fought with the evil disney machine and the disney machine won. (don't you realize they are all broken families? for everything walt was about... they were alllll broken families, and tramp was a tramp.... (don't get me wrong, haha thats my fave!) so yea, my hubby's the disney lover, anyway....

it keeps telling me to do the bobbin bc my bobbin is running out of thread. does it mean my bobbin up on top or on the bottom?
and i tried to read this all in the manual. i read and read and read.

now, i don't get it, it threads itself so how can i do that bobbin up on top ANYHOW?

and the one on bottom makes no sense to me

oh. i'm in over my head. someone please keep me from proving myself $400 broker for nuttin.
