1  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / baby haiku on: August 26, 2007 06:15:04 PM
I haven't posted an FO in a LONG time.  I finished up the Baby Haiku from Knitty for a quick bday gift for my niece tho!  It was REALLY quick as I used 2 strands of CSS held together. Size 10 US needles.  I would have like to have used some nicer yarn but she's being raised by my father and really...... they're lucky laundry gets done let alone handwashing something!   Roll Eyes Cheesy

2  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / HELP! Back issue of Creative Knitting on: July 05, 2007 01:58:54 PM
Ya'll I need some help in a bad way.  Last fall I lost an issue of Creative knitting.  Never mind the fact that I lost an entire ball of Trekking XXL and my 0 rosewood DPNS!  I've been mourning that magazine ever since.
Here's where I need help.  Can ya'll help me figure out what issue it was and where I can get another one?!  It was a summery issue, possibly 2006.  It had some really cute halter tops in it for teens and tweens (from kitchen cotten I think) and a few anklette sock patterns.
If any of you have a copy that you're willing to part with I'd be happy to pay for it and cover costs!

4  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / chemo hat donation on: February 22, 2007 03:51:13 PM
Our knitting group donated a TON of chemo/ shelter hats last year.  The local ACMoore is having a Chemohat drive this weekend.  Here's one of my completed hats.  (4 this week!) Here is the pattern I used.

I've already dropped off 2 knitted hats.  The crochet ones do up so much quicker!  I'm temped to just crochet all my future ones!  Let me challenge all of you to donate a hat to your local charity this week!

Again, my apologies for those of you who are frightened by eric carr!  Grin
5  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Donation Chemo hat on: February 20, 2007 02:28:53 PM

This weekend my ACMoore is giving away a free set of needles if you donate a chemo hat.  You know I gotta score me some needles!  Grin  It doesn't fit Eric Carr well but it really did turn out quite lovely.  It's done in Caron SS (of course!  Wink ) on size 8s.  I'll do it on a size smaller next time.  This is an uberquick hat to knit. The link is above the picture.  I chose something that was a little "airy" for this spring.
6  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Heelys bag on: February 15, 2007 09:21:40 AM
My boys (10 and7) are Heelys crazy.
They wear them everywhere  but the problem is that a bunch of places have forbidden them.  So they are constantly popping out their wheels.  I'm totally freaked out that they are going to loose the wheels.  They're like $30 a set!  I already put out $100 on the shoes!  So,, what's a knittin' mama to do?  Make a frickin' cozy of course! LOL

I lined it with the fabric in the background shown in picture 2 for stability and durability.  This is the first time I dared put any knitting under my sewing machine and it worked beautifully!  I may never hand sew in a lining again! The chart is crap, I took some artistic license with the logo.  The bag is loosely based on the magknits pattern http://www.magknits.com/Nov05/amulet.htm  I used some crazy unknown acrylic from my stash.  I think it's Bernat Chunky on size 5 DPNs
They love it, now I have to make another.
7  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Meet Ugly Bunny on: January 31, 2007 07:42:14 PM
he's so ugly.  But here he is because I spent a day and a half knitting him so I have to give him his day.    Poor poor poor ugly bunny.  He is nice and squishy tho.

He's Ricky Rabbit from Toys to Knit by Tracy Chapman

8  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / warning: you may need insulin after you see this sweetness! on: January 24, 2007 10:48:11 AM

The pattern is here -http://www.knittingpatterncentral.com/patterns/amy.php

Isn't she sweet?!  I made her for a blogging friend who sent me something really nice in the mail and won't accept anything for it.  She has a little girl who is 6 and her name is Camille.  I hope she likes it!
9  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / chart maker? on: January 19, 2007 06:14:02 PM
I've used it a zillion times and now I can't find it.  Does anyone know where that nifty online fairisle/cross stitch chart maker thingy is?
10  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / spiral hat from IK holiday issue on: January 03, 2007 12:15:16 PM

Please excuse my ultra dorkiness.  I'm home sick today and made this this morning/afternoon.  I LOVE IT!  I think I'm gonna make the mittens too.  The Holiday issue of Interweave knits has been one of my favorite issues.

This pattern taught me something new.  I learned how to do applied Icord. (the headband)  It was tricky because the instructions were vauge but I love the way it feels!  It also has the prettiest spiral pattern which is totally lost in the picture.  This Patons Nuance is so soft and nice to knit with.

Here's the original pattern photo, you can see the spiral better.
