71  padded headboard in CHALLENGE 7 ENTRIES by funkyhooker on: November 06, 2005 11:16:49 AM

Here's my entry.  This STUPID easy!  Grin  I just cut a crapload of 8 inch squares out of a bunch of jeans and made a blanket of sorts.  Just sewed them together, nothin' fancy.  Then I took a peice of plywood the size I needed for the headboard and stapled some batting around it and then did the same with the jean blanket.  Bolted it onto the  frame of the bed and VIOLA!  instant headboard.
If you'll notice in the pic, I ran out of squares so I had to sew together some scrap and then use my 8 inch template (made from the back of a notebook) and cut more squares.  My son loves it!

72  Re: fishing bag? in Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage by funkyhooker on: November 05, 2005 10:56:30 PM
I'm thinking a whole other direction.  When I fish I ALWAYS need something to wipe hands on.  Have you ever seen one of those granny things that button over the handle of your stove that has a tea towel stitched on it?  Well, my husbands black powder rifle team wears those on their belts so they have something handy to wipe the suet off of their hands to reload.  Something like this would be excellent for fishing.    I just drew it,, couldn't find one I liked when I went "agoogleing"

73  Re: *NEW & IMPROVED* ORIGINAL MAGAZINE BAG!!! (kinda img heavy) in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by funkyhooker on: November 05, 2005 07:44:54 AM

Ok,, here's my first go at it! I just made a gusseted drawstrig bag and used the magazine strips as the base.  It's only 8 strips by 8 strips but with the "bag" E6000ed inside it's actally a good sized purse.  I christen this "Girl Gamer" as I used the pages from a Gameinformer magazine.  I've been looking for the perfect use for this girly camo fabric that I've had for ages.  The drawstring thing eliminates the need to invest in handles.  I'm so friggin' cheap!
