Here in London it's chucking down with rain, what a great excuse to get the sewing machine out and make some lovely bagginess!
I have just finished a step-by-step tute for this shoulder bag. It has satin ribbon piping on the top edge and the pocket trim, and I have made my stripy fabric just a that bit more fun by turning into chevron stripe. I also used over sized rings on the handles to make them a bit more funky too.
My partner is from Dublin so I knew about the bag levey they have in Ireland. It's so simple, intelligent, and it obviously works!
I'm sure that if the supermarkets in the UK were sincere about cutting down on waste plastic, they would do the same as the stores in Ireland, but no, they are doing pathetic tokenism things like 'use your bag again and we will reward you with a 'green clubcard point' Err thanks, Tesco!
