1  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Looking for a ballet short pattern... on: January 15, 2007 01:02:27 PM
I'm a dancer, and I really want those knit warm-up shorts, but I'm not really interested in spending upwards of $20 for them. If anybody can point me in the right direction here, I'd greatly appreciate it!!

A picture for anybody is here:

2  KNITTING / Knitalongs / "Carpathia" from Knitty on: August 01, 2006 07:19:03 PM
Anybody else interested in knitting these up? They are totally new to me, but I have the needles and the yarn and I'm almost ready to cast on. It's something really new to me, but I love the pattern and I'm willing to give it a try!

Pattern is here: http://knitty.com/ISSUEsummer06/PATTcarpathia.html

By the way, I looked and searched, but I didn't see a knitalong for this on the site, if there is one, and I'm just totally blind, yell at me and point me in the right direction!  Tongue
3  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / ending on wrong side? on: July 18, 2006 07:59:32 AM
Hey, just a quick question. When a pattern says to "end with wrong side row" (in st st), does that mean stop after you have completed the purl row? Sorry, a real beginner question, but I don't want to screw it up! haha thanks!  Smiley
4  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Warm and Fuzzy Feeling on: June 20, 2006 08:44:01 AM
There ARE people who respect knitters. I was over at my friend's house and I saw a "begin to knit" kit shoved waaaay back in her closet. I say, "You're beginning to knit? That's really cool!" "Not really, I can't do it!!!" So I take a deep breath and say "You want me to teach you? I know how to knit!"

The expression on her face made me feel so happy and excited! Share this feeling here!
5  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Any reviews on these books? on: June 17, 2006 10:47:44 AM
Hey, I'm thinking of buying some books off of amazon, and I was wondering if the Craftsters had any reviews?

The first is Vintage Knits : 30 Exquisite Vintage-Inspired Patterns for Cardigans, Twin Sets, Crewnecks and More by Sarah Dallas ( http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0743224566/ref=si3_rdr_bb_product/102-1395325-0455345?%5Fencoding=UTF8 )

The second isss Sexy Little Knits : Chic Designs to Knit and Crochet  by Ashley Paige. ( http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0307236579/ref=wl_it_dp/102-1395325-0455345?%5Fencoding=UTF8&colid=2ZD17DB38BW48&coliid=I1W1RB87146MZP&v=glance&n=283155 ) I saw this in Knit.1, but I just wanted to see what other people thought of the patterns and stuff.

Any reviews. comments, whatever, would be great! Thanks!!
6  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Velvet Pants?? on: June 15, 2006 08:18:42 PM
Oh, how I despise thee. But I can't throw them away. My mom bought them for me, and I have yet to do anything with them. Any ideas?
7  KNITTING / Projects from the Stitch 'N B**ch Books by Debbie Stoller / Sexie Help! on: June 14, 2006 05:04:38 PM
I'm only a beginner, and I've decided to take on Sexie. haha. About 3 rows into it, I have a problem. No matter what I do it just WILL NOT come out right. I always have wayy to many stitches at the end or too little. I guess my question is...if you yo, do you knit a stitch right after it regardless of what the directions say?

Sorry, I know it's probably the dumbest question you guys ever heard, but it confusing me so much. Any help?
8  Pennsylvania / Pennsylvania: Northeast / lys in lehigh valley? on: June 13, 2006 08:26:22 AM
I've been listening to podcasts lately and I'm so jealous of all the different yarns people have and such. I'm a little tired of shopping at chains, so I was wondering if there was a lys in the lehigh valley area? I'm only 15 so I can't drive somewhere however many miles away, so I thought I'd ask!

10  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Scrapbooking: Discussion and Questions / Mini Baby Scrapbook help! on: May 21, 2006 09:46:40 AM
*rises from the dead*
i honestly hate my internet connection, i couldn't get on forever

anyways, I wanted to make a mini-scrapbook for my cousins who are having a baby. I have to make two, and I was looking at those photo albums where you have the top and the bottom? ahhh like this:

      scrapbookpage

_____________________

a spot for pictures they
can put in

but im having a hard time finding the albums, all of the ones that I've found aren't really ones that look like a baby book type thing. Does anybody know where I can pick them up? I've checked stores around my area ands looked a little online. I would think they'd be so easy to find! Any help would be amazing~
