1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: My very first garment! on: May 29, 2014 12:39:25 PM
Thanks, everybody  Smiley  I think the next project might be a skirt.. since it's suddenly skirt season here in Seattle.  I have a book called Sew What Skirts that doesn't use patterns, but teaches you how to draft your own based on a few measurements.  Anybody used this book before??
2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / My very first garment! on: May 27, 2014 01:01:17 PM
I finally bit the bullet and had some friends help me figure out how to sew with patterns.  We had a sewing party and all made the same top: http://sewing.patternreview.com/patterns/29405
It's a cowl neck with a yoke back.
It was easier than I thought, but still a bit hard to understand all the jargon.  But, voila! I did it anyhow  Cheesy (I might be hooked..)

3  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Bib necklace on: May 27, 2013 04:57:33 PM
I feel very accomplished at the moment- my project turned out cute!  I had some problems finding the right glue to use, and am not a perfect circle-cutter, but all in all Im happy.  I have no idea what kind of material I used.. I got it for free at a craft swap.  Its kind of like vinyl on corrugated cardboard? Anyhow, I figured it was stiff enough for necklace.

Fabric glue and jewelry glue didnt work, so Crafty Hot Melt to the rescue:

Here are the photos I remembered to take!

These are adorable! I absolutely love that you used some of your Grandmother's yarn.  I use my Grandma's buttons in my crafts and it adds a special something to the gift  Smiley

I adapted a pattern from a pony bead craft site to fit my fingerless glove pattern, et voila! Adorable.

7  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Sequin vinyl wrist cuff on: May 12, 2012 12:36:26 PM
Did you know this material existed?  It's my new favorite thing and comes in gold and silver and bronze.  I cut a little strip, put a snap on the ends and voila..  Smiley
