11  Yoda in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by smooshyknit on: November 09, 2005 06:03:04 AM

I was inspired by the crocheted yoda in the featured projects and decided to make my own.  Unfortunately, I couldn't find a pattern.  So I made this little guy up as I went.  He isn't exactly how I pictured him, but he'll do.  He'll be fulfilling his destiny on my husband's desk at work!

15  Lion Craft bag in CHALLENGE 7 ENTRIES by smooshyknit on: November 07, 2005 02:05:40 PM
I just had to enter!

This is a craft bag for the knitter on the go!  It's just big enough for two balls of yarn (or one skein) and has two pockets on the front for needles, crochet hooks, stitch marks and scissors.  He--yes, it's a he--is made of three pairs of jeans.  Even his mane is made of the frayed bottoms of my old shorts.  The only part that is not from jeans is the handle.  The bag itself is two large dungeree pockets sewn together.  The lion's face is a pocket, as is his nose. (He's a pocket lion...) His mouth, as you can see, is a zipper.  His ears are belt loops.  I hope you guys like!

16  Felted "Starfish" bag in Knitting: Completed Projects by smooshyknit on: November 04, 2005 02:26:45 PM
This is a knitted, felted bag.  The pocket on the front was made from an old wool sweater, which I felted with the bag.  The design on the pocket was originally supposed to be a flower, but the felting process is unpredictable!  Someone on my blog said it looked like a starfish, so I will go with that!  It's a starfish!
