Sometimes, Barnes and Noble is better than the library  Grin

Ladies Who Launch (http://www.ladieswholaunch.com) by Victoria Colligan, Beth Schoenfeldt, and Amy Swift

The book is about fostering and releasing entrepreneurial spirit in a non-traditional, non-linear approach.  The website is like one big discussion group for ideas, services, networking, etc.

Retail in Detail by Ronald L. Bond

The author and his wife write about their own experiences in the general retail business.  He gives a lot of practical advice, but the text is very dense.

The Crafts Business Answer Book by Barbara Brabec

If you have a specific question about the general craft venture, this book might come in handy.  I didn't see anything knitting-related, though.

Oops, my bad.  Ranma doesn't have kimonos, they have cheung-sam.

Going with the kimono idea, you could go as Inu-Yasha or Akane (from Ranma 1/2) or even Ranma himself/herself.

Ren from "Blade of the Immortal" manga also wears one.  Its red with orange flames on it.  Her weapons of choice are her father's Chinese sword and dozens of tiny daggers (which she hides in her sleeves).

If you're into Naruto, Inu's outfit is relatively easy.  And you'd get to wear black fishnets!
8  CLOTHING / Costumes: Discussion and Questions / cosplay - Sailormoon! on: April 09, 2007 10:17:55 PM
I'm getting a BIG head-start on next year's SakuraCon...

<IMG src= "http://www.reeny.org/SMpics/princess-serena34.jpg">

I want to go as Sailormoon in the final battle.  Little things like the sword and angel wings are no problem, but the dress is going to be a challenge...

Here are so more pictures to give you an idea.

The last picture was taken from a personal website, but it was the only picture I could find with the back of the dress.

Could anyone recommend patterns?  Or would it be more efficient to buy a pre-existing dress (probably wedding or bridesmaid) and alter it?  The part I'm most concerned about is the ring of gold circles.

Thanks so much!
