thank you for all the nice comments.

tickleagangster-

i did in fact make a band for the top, but i loved the way the curtain was when i bought it, so i tried to have the same effect on the skirt.i put both a zipper and buttons on both of them- please excuse the picture-

these are my first attempts at reconstructing after teaching myself how to sew recently.both were originally curtains ( most likely from the 60's) i love the way the fabric feels... it's nice and heavy... but not too hot for warm weather... i put another layer under both of them after seeing the way they were as curtains... i think it makes them look more finished...

6  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Re: Coffee Bean Jewelry *Now With Bracelet* on: April 08, 2006 10:29:27 AM
One of my best memories from growing up in a Latin American coffee-growing country is going to the local artisinal market and playing dress up with coffee bean necklaces. unlike the ones here though, they were stringed tightly together, pierced through the center, and long enough to hit mid chest. i am positive that they were sealed somehow- but i don't remember them being shiny at all- they were matte and very fragrant. the interpretations here are very pretty.

you are more than welcome, I'm glad i was able to help.

just to clarify....  i am definitely going to frame my lint creations, not only for my uncle's sake but also to protect it from dust, etc.

i have an uncle who is completely obsessed with laundry, and have been planing for some time now to decorate his laundry room. i have been collecting lint for the past few months(no, i am NOT weird , I'm creative!), i am planning to make art out of it(n some kind of colage) and frame it. i also want to make him some wall sconces out of old detergent bottles, much like was shown here http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=24142.0

hope that serves for some kind of inspiration.   Smiley
