1  Neckwarmers (lots o pics) in Crochet: Completed Projects by hehthur on: November 28, 2009 08:13:41 AM
i've been cooped up in the house the last couple of weeks, pregnant with the cold of Iceland outside. So I decided to start crocheting. Peaceful and soothing, I have been having soooo much fun. I have been making neckwarmers because they are always handy and I can even give them out as gifts if I like. Check them out. They aren't anything truly amazing, but I am proud regardless!

2  Re: Christmas 2009, what are you making? in Winter Holidays by hehthur on: November 10, 2009 01:39:26 PM
I usually cheat and put together baskets for the adults that I have to buy for.
I am pretty similar to to this. I just moved to Iceland from the States (Cali) a little over a year ago, this will be my second christmas here. I really don't know everyone well enough to be able to handcraft or even buy things that are super personal like I normally enjoy doing, so this year I am taking on an old tradition my mom used to do of the baskets. Everyone always loved them, and this way I can kind of show off to my husband's family with my crafting and cooking skills, removing all my stress. Here is what I will be putting into my baskets (so far):

everything below is handmade
Kahlua (including handpainted holiday bottles. this recipe comes from my mom)
Pumpkin Bread
Snickerdoodles
Chocolate & Peanut butter fudge
Chocolate covered coffee spoons
Apple Butter
chocolates
ornaments

and of course something small and personal for each specific person. Here is a poor quality example of the bottles I have already started on:

3  My very first Cinnamon rolls from scratch! in Dessert by hehthur on: June 01, 2009 10:22:40 AM
Last night I had the urge to make something that I thought would be a little more difficult than what I normally make. So I looked up some recipes online for cinnamon rolls, thinking that they always looked pretty difficult to make. But they aren't at all! It was so much fun!

So here are my first ones ever, I made the entire thing, including the dough. and added chocolate chips!

4  Fancier necklaces? in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by hehthur on: March 08, 2007 04:08:35 PM
I normally make necklaces using shrinky dinks, but I tried to make some using different types of pendants. I've got two here to show you, I was trying for a more elegant/mature feel. do you think i accomplished that? haha. i'm lame.

thanks for looking Smiley
