i think a park is a really great idea, especially with the weather being nicer lately!  if everyone could get to center city we could even meet at rittenhouse. Smiley

I'm pretty partial to Hausbrandt on 15th and locust, but it's a little small. There's still (kind of) a smoking ban in the city, so what about a bar?

I'm usually free on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday nights. Sundays are alright, too.

mmm hausbrandt.  two of my good friends work there.  but anyway i would definitely be interested in this as well.  depending on how many people and what time we do this, i think hausbrandt would be a good place.  unfortunately i don't know of any other coffee shops in center city as i'm always in west philly.

and speaking of west philly, are there any west philly people here who would want to meet up?  green line + crocheting would be so sweet..
17  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions / buying different types of fabric on: March 27, 2007 08:50:59 PM
hey guys

i was just wondering if anyone knew where i could buy really strong fabrics like nylon.  and also, what is the difference between "ripstop nylon" and "ballistic nylon."  i looked online a bit but a lot of the places were selling only in bulk or had minimum order prices, and i didn't really know what to look for.  basically i'm just looking for a really strong fabric to make schoolbag/messenger type bags.  thanks in advance for any help Smiley

Or you can buy on like at places likewww.dharmatradi ng.c om to get a wider variety of colors. Just remember that you need soda ash for fiber reactive dye.

sorry for seeming stupid, but what is soda ash?  and fiber reactive dye?  what! haha, i;m sorry i'm a bit confused.  also, why wouldn't you recommend RIT?  just out of curiosity.  and if i dyed over the original color, would the color be as vibrant as if i bleached them first?
20  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / dying jeans!!! on: March 13, 2007 12:08:13 PM
hello everyone!  ok so, i have a pair of bluejeans that i LOVE the fit, but HATE the color.  it's a pretty bright but still light blue (i can try to get a picture) and i just don't like it.  i was thinking of dying them a color like...teal, or bright purple.  something like http://www.urbanoutfitters.com/shopping/product/detailmain.jsp?itemID=26645&itemType=PRODUCT&iMainCat=10&iSubCat=19&iProductID=26645.  i think something like that would be perfect for spring but i don't know how to do this!  can anyone give me any suggestions?  would i bleach them first, and then dye them?  what kind of dye would i use? help, i want to save these jeans, since everyoen knows it's impossible to find jeans that fit Smiley
