1  Re: Ecofriendly/Recycling/Gardening/Hippie Swap 2 Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by Britta Bear on: March 25, 2012 06:54:46 AM
Haykeyes_girl sent a ton of awesome stuff in her package. I am so in love Smiley I received on Friday, but have been too busy/tired to post. I am finally caught up. So here we go.

Here's the lot.

I received a new patchy purse, homemade minty soap and lotion with a soap scrubby bag, home made candles in sweet scents ( not sure what, but I like them), and crochet and sewn headbands. The purse came at a good time because the strap on my old one just broke.

Here are the candles she made, and a bonus jar of homemade pear butter, yum!
and an action shot of my favorite headband

Thanks so much! I had a great time doing this swap

2  Panda Hood in Costumes: Completed Projects by Britta Bear on: October 10, 2011 10:46:11 AM
I saw a girl last week with an awesome panda hood from Spirithoods.com and had to make one. My dear friend Caroline has a birthday on Halloween, and has just about everything panda. I'm going to have to make more because it turned out so cute. I used some ideas from http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=387511.0 using an hobby knife helped a bit with the mess. I added darts to the top back of the hood and changed the shape a bit. The ears were hand stitched on which was probably the hardest part.

3  Re: Hungry Monster GALLERY! Send out by Sept. 8, 2011 in The Swap Gallery by Britta Bear on: September 15, 2011 06:30:35 PM
I got my monster today, and I love him Smiley
First is a picture of all my goodies, alwaysinmyroom was right on with my taste. I love bright colors especially batiks. he has an appliqued heart with a tiny peace sign heart charm, and his eyes have peace sign embroidery. Not only is my monster batik, but I got a matching tissue holder too. The monster and fabric were sealed nicely in a bag, which was impressive.

She also sent some dangerously cute flannel fabric, which I LOVE. This will be set back for something special.

Thanks so much for making my first swap special Smiley

4  Coraline and Mr. T in Halloween Costumes by Britta Bear on: October 27, 2009 05:56:11 PM
Went to a costume party this weekend. I was Coraline and DH was Mr. T

Edited... I made my own wig, dyed a lab coat yellow, and even painted some black rubber boots yellow.

Here is DH, he is trying to look mean. I made his wig, feather earrings, and painted some MardiGras beads gold.

Here are a few of the partygoers, my friend was a one night stand.  I thought it was pretty cute.

5  Tie Dye Shirts, Two attempts at Mandalas in Dyeing: Completed Projects by Britta Bear on: February 22, 2009 10:41:54 AM
I've had a tye-dye kit since high school! I finally decided to try it out. I'm somewhat pleased with the results. The colors are ultra bright. I have more dye left (it lasts two weeks), so I will be doing some more.
This first one has the star pattern on both sides. If I did it again, I would put some dye between folds.

This one was dyed only on the front.

I intended this one to be a "V" I think it looks more like a rainbow.

6  Corduroy skirt with tree applique (image fatty) in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by Britta Bear on: March 03, 2008 01:49:09 PM
Hello all! I've been dreaming of this one for a while now. I finally got off my butt this weekend, however, and started it. Once I started I couldn't stop. DH helped quite a bit with design suggestions. Originally I was going to do multicolored stars on the front panel, but has said it didn't look right, suggested I use a tree sketch I had been working on, and helped me perfect that design. (Drawing is not my forte) I still need to hem, but it is more complete than I ever thought. Questions, comments, and criticisms welcome.

7  Mock Cable Hat in Knitting: Completed Projects by Britta Bear on: October 17, 2007 04:42:42 PM
I made this one for my Hubby over the summer. The pattern is from Lorna's Laces and so is the yarn. Expensive but soft and pretty colors.
