1  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) / Random acts of ATCs on: December 15, 2007 06:16:19 AM
I've been in the mood to make ATCs again lately, but the swap board's been kinda slow.  I joined ATCard.com, but there's so much going on over there that I'm not quite sure how to jump in!  And really, I just like to make 'em, and I'm not that concerned with trading... and have no real desire to keep the cards I've made.  So, I've decided to just randomly send them!  Everyone needs a little surprise mail, right?

Here's my first batch - in the mail to... I'm not telling!

If anyone would like to receive a random card - drop me a pm with your address and any themes you might collect - I promise to send you a card, but I won't guarantee when - that would ruin the randomness!
2  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) / My weekend ATCs (long post) on: February 25, 2007 02:31:27 PM
This is a long post, and the second time I'm writing it... My web just acted up as I pushed "post" the last time  Angry
I originally went through all the steps I took to make each of these cards, because I'm always wondering about the process that other people use to make their cards, but I just don't have it in me to write that all out again, so if anyone wants to know, just ask!
I have to go to LA for work tomorrow, and I'm kind of dreading it (change of scenery is nice, the hours spent actually travelling is not), so I spent most of yesterday engaging in "denial behavior", messing around in my craft room instead of doing stuff I needed to be doing.
I wanted to make a card for my last February card-a-day post, but I made a whole bunch!

3  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / hat pattern needed - please help! on: September 18, 2006 10:12:54 AM
I'm looking for a pattern for a man's hat - something fairly simple, but still interesting.  I want it to be one color, no ear flaps or pompoms or anything like that, but cables or cool stitch patterns would be fine.  I'm making this as a gift for a friend starting chemo.
Thanks!
4  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / birthday socks for grammy! on: July 30, 2006 06:36:57 AM
Made with Elann's peruvian collection baby cashmere, these are possibly the most impractical and fussy socks ever, and I'm very happy with how they turned out (my second pair ever!)

5  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / baby afghan on: April 15, 2006 01:25:18 PM
My pics are kind of crappy, but I wanted to post this granny-square afghan I made for a co-worker's baby to be.  It's made with caron's simply soft, 49 little squares and a border...

6  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / itchy wool ?? on: December 14, 2005 07:01:31 PM
Is there anything that can be done to soften up itchy wool?  I bought some 100% wool yarn for cheap on ebay because I wanted something easily blockable to try to start knitting lace with, and the colors were really nice.  Unfortunately, when I got it, it isn't very soft at all, and I'm pretty sensitive to wool to begin with... Help??
7  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / fleece baby blanket question on: November 06, 2005 06:44:21 AM
I'm making a crocheted baby afghan for a friend, but it's kind of bulky and loose, so I'm thinking of making a matching blanket out of light fleece - kind of a "wind breaker" to go along with the afghan.  I don't have a lot of time left before her shower, so I was wondering if I could just blanket stitch around the edges of the fleece, or if I would need to do something else in addition to keep it from unraveling?
