1  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Selling Crafts on Etsy.com / Re: An Etsy Seller Using My Business Name on: June 27, 2008 04:11:50 AM
Even though there may be no legal reason for her to give up the name, you may want to contact her anyway - not to ask her to do so, but just to give her a head's up.  She may choose to change her name voluntarily once she realizes that someone else making handmade items already owns the domain and has a blog devoted to handmade projects.  She herself may wish to avoid the possibility of being confused with your business.  And as CraftyChef said, it's better to know for her to know earlier than later, it will be easier if she chooses to change it.

I've never seen a blanket like that - it's beautiful!  The bold colours are fabulous - I got tired of pastel baby stuff when I had my babies.

Oh this is a lovely tote!  I really like how structured it is and of course the lovely organizational pockets are marvelous.  What type of interfacing do you use?

The colours are fabulous together too, nice choices.

Awww... thanks so much!   Smiley  I'm so pleased with this piece, I drew the moon man myself... I'm not much of an artist but I think he turned out okay.  I'd forgotten how much I enjoy embroidery, it is sooooo relaxing.

Hi everybody!  I just realized that I haven't posted anything in ages and I've done some really nice work that I'm pretty proud of.

My latest tote bag is basically a Jordy-style bag, with a white felt moon man face appliqued then embroidered on the front.  The outside is sturdy denim and the inside is a sweet blue plaid.  What do you think?

Holy crap that is astounding.  You are amazing.

Did you design it yourself or can you point me at a pattern?  I love the shape!  And of course that fabric totally kicks butt.  Lovely job on the piping, too.

Awesome.

That tote is gorgeous and I bet you that she will cry when you give it to her.  It's got a lot of love in it.

I have some of that Mary Engelbreit fabric, too.  I've been hoarding it, I just don't know what to make with it!  It is so sweet.

I use an ugly old store-bought tote myself and I know that I really should make myself something spectacular - it would be free advertising!  But I never seem to have time...

Wow oh wow, thanks so much for the info about teflon tape.  I am definitely going to try it!  I made one item where I had to topstitch on vinyl and it did NOT come out so great.

I put away the rest of the vinyl that I had bought until I could afford a teflon foot.  But I think we have some teflon tape around here from last year's plumbing fiasco...er I mean the wonderful plumbing job my hubby did...  (well it turned out wonderful in the end...)

That is really really cute!  Your other post mentioned that you got an embroidery machine - is it easy to use?  I'm intrigued (although suspecting I can't afford one!).

I love that fabric - it makes me think of tooled leather.

Nice combination with the trim!  I love brown.

That is a great purse, I like it a lot.
