1  Appliqued/Embroidered Man in the Moon Tote in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by dejavugirl on: September 17, 2006 08:22:23 AM
Hi everybody!  I just realized that I haven't posted anything in ages and I've done some really nice work that I'm pretty proud of.

My latest tote bag is basically a Jordy-style bag, with a white felt moon man face appliqued then embroidered on the front.  The outside is sturdy denim and the inside is a sweet blue plaid.  What do you think?

2  Patchwork Wristlet Clutch in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by dejavugirl on: April 06, 2006 08:40:53 AM
I am pretty proud of this little wristlet clutch!  I want to start a crazy quilt but I thought I'd try some smaller piecework first, and this was my first attempt.

It's just a lined zippered pouch but I made it trapezoid-shaped and added a strap.    I found some funky vintage animal buttons, actually they were originally hair-ties, and I used one for the pin.

I love this tutorial!  I've been playing with applique off and on but never had it explained so clearly.  Thanks so much!

Here is my favourite one to date, which I made into a mini messenger bag:

Thanks  again for posting this fantastic tutorial, seaofstars.

4  Zippered pouch purse with lace-up detail - first project posted here! in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by dejavugirl on: March 02, 2006 04:44:49 AM
This purse is how I found Craftster!  Last autumn I was making a purse for my daughter and while trying to find an easier way to do the zipper, I found e.r.i.k.a's tutorial for the Lined Zippered Pouch.

And I fell in love with Craftster!!  Smiley

Here's a picture of the purse:

The lace-up detail turned out great, first time I ever used grommets.  The pouch is lined with the same fabric as I set in behind the lacing, and I put a pocket inside as well.  My daughter loves it!

Since then I have made a few Jordy bags and a couple of the Rounder Roomy bags including one for myself with a kanzashi flower pin.  It is so nice to have so many fabulous tutorials to choose from!! THANK YOU CRAFTSTERS!!!
