1  CLOTHING / Costumes: Completed Projects / Re: Pirate costume! A few pics. on: July 08, 2006 05:37:09 PM
Wow, great costume!  I went to the midnight showing also, but I didn't see anyone who dressed up.  It was a tad bit disappointing.  My friends and I just wore eyepatches, then immediately took them off.  I have to say that my favorite part of your project is the cap you made for your friend.  I would totally wear that anyday, especially to next year's showing of Pirates III!
2  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: Sleepy Turtle Tote & Poptart tampon cozzzzzy on: July 04, 2006 09:18:27 PM
I LOVE the poptart!  I need to make one.  How did you close the top, with Velcro?
3  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: Luau dress from huge Hawaiian shirt on: June 28, 2006 04:05:23 PM
That is so cute!  You just inspired me to do this.  I have to try it because I love the look of shirt-dresses.

5  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Conan O'Brien box on: February 24, 2006 09:16:11 PM
During the holidays, my friends and I did a secret santa swap and the person I got is obsessed with Conan O'Brien, so I took a nifty cigar box and made it niftier by painting it black, tracing Conan and filling it in with white, and lining the box with felt and duct tape!  Then I sprayed some funky acrylic coating on it.  And of course, I filled it with 100 Grands bars and caramel creams.  She loved it!

6  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Art from Recyclables (w/ a cornucopia of imgs) on: February 24, 2006 09:04:12 PM
I entered a Recycling Art Contest that my ecology club at school held (even though I'm in it), and I worked so hard on it that I have to show it!  I used many different types of recyclable materials to create this landscape/tree/bird thing.  Well, here are the pics!

This is the unfinished part.  I cut out different colors of blue from newspaper advertisements and magazine clippings to make the grass.

The finished piece!  The tree trunk is made of cardboard with strips of packaging paper for the ridges, aluminum can cut-outs for the leaves, coke cans for the birds, a plastic ring thing that I got of a top of a smoothie bottle, and diet decaffeinated coke cans for the sun.  For the sun-- I cut out the bottom of the can and hot-glued a bunch of the can tongues to fill it in.

CLOSE-UPS:

the sun is my favorite part!

Sorry if the pictures are too humongous.

9  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Completed Projects / Re: Aluminum Can Phoenix and Collage Geisha (Pictures) on: January 12, 2006 12:41:32 PM
OMG! You are so creative!  I LOVE both of them.  At school, my ecology club is hosting a recycling art contest also and I'm entering.  I'm collecting as many cans as I can find.  I'm going with a tree motif as a representation as mother nature.  Your pheonix is amazing!
-Oh, how did you get the wings to stay flat?
