2  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Discussion and Questions / goldie hawn on: June 06, 2006 10:01:20 AM
Hey everyone, I have a huge favor, if anyone has ever run across a Goldie Hawn stencil or wants to be very wonderful and make one I would be forever grateful.  I need to make a shirt and it would be a million times better if I could actually have goldie hawn's picture on it but I no longer have access to photoshop and have no idea how to make it with out photoshop.

5  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / domestically disabled on: January 30, 2006 10:02:50 PM
I am a senior in college and in a few short months have to get my own place.  Needless to say I am not ready, not mentally or materially.  So what I was thinking is anyone who is either getting their first place, starting fresh or would just like to jazz up there home could get in on this swap.  You could make your partner anything useful for their own place such as dishtowels, place mats, wall organizers or art, pillow cases or towels.  Whatever you could use.  What does everyone else think? Anyone down for this type of swap?

6  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / crazy, bright color dress on: January 14, 2006 06:40:22 PM
Here is a dress I made last night.  The green is a stretchy tube of fabric I had.  The yellow is a curtain I bought at a yard sale and finally the polka dot is super sale halloween fabric.  I just kinda winged it.  the yellow and the polka dots are just circle skirts from square-ish fabric.  I really like it though I have no idea where I can wear it.

7  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / crocheted necklace on: December 25, 2005 10:30:03 PM
i found the idea in a crochet magazine but i improvised since i left the magazine at school.  so far i have made three, one for my mother, one for my godmother and a third today that i may actually keep.  if you can crochet it is really easy.  if people are interested i can write up some instructions though you can probably figure it out on your own.  here is a picture of my most recent, that i may keep.  it was made with silver wire and white, green and blue beads.  sorry the picture is so bad, still learning how to use my new computer.

if that doesn't work you can also find a picture here:

i was thinking of making a bunch and trying to sell them.  my entire family thought they were great, but since it is my family i am not sure if they are sincere.  let me know what you think and how much i could sell them as.  i was thinking around $15.  So i would sell them to stores for between $5 and $7, maybe more if i get nicer beads.

Thanks for looking,
ashley
8  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / first post of stuff i have made (tutu, fancy skirt, mannequin) on: December 25, 2005 10:21:46 PM
Hey everyone!  I got a new digital camera for christmas Grin since my other one broke Cry and so I can now finally post pictures of a few things I made.
Today with the extra time because I wasn't working and with the help from my brother I made a duct tape dress form.  It turned out well enough for my uses, though it could be better if I had someone helping who was more patient and I planned it out better.

The next thing is a tutu I made.  I have wanted one for years and so I was having a birthday party for my 22nd birthday and decided to make one.  It is made from black and pink tulle with blanket edging for the top (the silky stuff you put around fleece blankets).  I chose to add the pink because the black I was using was actually decorating stuff used for halloween so it wasn't very comfortable, where as the pink was soft tulle from joanna's.  I think it turned out really well except that it was too big
The front:

The back:

Finally the last thing I was able to take pictures of today was a circle skirt I made for over the tutu.  I had a fancy formalish thing for my haus for the end of the semester so I started with a circle skirt and then with the help of a friend we pinned up around it to give it a cool valance look.  I think it turned out well though I really need to work on it.  I plan on adding a zipper and then the black blanket stuff i used for the tutu around the top.  I also need to redo where it is pinned and then tack it, but overall I am happy with it:

Hope you all enjoy,
ashley
