Lots of work but obviously worth it! Absolutely gorgeous!
3  QUILTING / Quilting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Where do you start? on: October 15, 2007 10:38:15 AM
I'll check out that book, it looks pretty detailed.

And I KNOW quilting is addicting because I just barely started to sew and my fabric stash is almost bigger than my yarn stash! Smiley
4  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Joining in the round.. what's your secret? on: October 13, 2007 12:32:47 PM
I was taught to knit the two stitches where you were joining tighter than normal. Someone else told me that they would knit through the back for the two stitches and never had a problem.
5  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Who are you on Ravelry? on: October 13, 2007 12:30:51 PM
I'm BluEyedPenny on Ravelry. Smiley
6  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Does your knitting bother your significant other? on: October 13, 2007 12:29:29 PM
My bf doesn't really care either. He goes to the different yarn shops and a lot of times he gives me input on what to buy. Sometimes I think he gets a bit peeved if I try to finish a row before giving him a kiss or something. That's the one thing he doesn't understand-how important counting is! LOL. I've even taught him how to knit. He doesn't do it on a daily, or weekly, basis. But sometimes he will pick up his scarf and work on it.
7  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: I finally finished my Tilted Duster on: October 13, 2007 01:18:01 AM
Thanks everyone. I wore it to our SnB tonight and it was perfect because it's finally been chilly. (It's raining now.) It was so warm.

Christne, I used a little less than 9 skeins. I did the largest size because of the bust size, but I went down a needle size. I've heard a few people say that they had problems with the sleeves being too short, but mine were fine. I would say definitely do your gauge and check your measurements. It seems that's what has been off for other people.
8  KNITTING / Knitalongs / Re: Fresh Starsky KAL? on: October 12, 2007 01:37:56 PM
I just queued this pattern on my Ravelry list. I love it and am not sure why I didn't knit it before! I haven't decided on what yarn I want to use though.
9  KNITTING / Knitalongs / Re: Tilted Duster from IK Fall 07 on: October 12, 2007 01:36:06 PM
I just finished mine, though I'm going to change the buttons. Here's a finished pic, (the rest are on the Completed Projects forum if you'd like to take a look).

I would greatly suggest using the yarn the pattern calls for. It's really soft and very warm when knit up. I bought mine off of Ebay for a really good price, so check out their deals!
10  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / I finally finished my Tilted Duster on: October 12, 2007 01:33:22 PM
I finished my Tilted Duster from Interweave Knits Fall 07 issue. I have been bad about posting on here, but mainly because I haven't been working on much more than the sweater. But now it's done and I love it, except I have to change the buttons because these are too small.

I used Berroco Peruvia in Grano and used size 9 (US) needles. The pattern was really easy to follow and I loved that the skirt was done on circulars after sewing the fronts and the back.
