2  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Screen Printing: Discussion and Questions / Where to buy good ink colors in NYC? on: November 16, 2005 05:55:37 PM
Anybody have any leads on finding affordable inks (plastisol) in interesting colors in NYC?

I've bought from Standard Screen Supply on Varick St. in the past, which has a variety of inks and their prices ranges from $16.50 to $27.50 per quart, but you can't see their colors on the website..

Anybody have any ideas?    ...Thanks!
3  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Re: My very first embroidery project. Ever. on: October 30, 2005 10:22:23 AM
I lOVE it!  I've been itching to learn to embroider and don't know how to get started.

Dumb question:  How did you trace the image onto the fabric from the illustrator print-out?
4  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Screen Printing: Discussion and Questions / Re: textile design on: October 30, 2005 09:57:14 AM
I've recently become interested in textile design and am thinking of taking a class.  My partner and are starting up a t-shirt etc. design company, mainly with silkscreened images, but I really want to try to design some patterns too.

How do you begin?  Do you use found images for creating a pattern or do you design them yourself?

I think making bags is a great project for your printed fabric.  Also, I've seen some amazing locally silkscreened wallpaper at this store in brooklyn: http://www.thefutureperfect.com/
