1  Archive of Past Craftster Challenge Entries / CHALLENGE 15 ENTRIES / My Little Zombie on: October 05, 2006 07:30:08 PM
My Little Zombie, My Little Zombie, I comb and brush her hair...I tie a ribbon in her hair...
I mean, what's left of it.
(If you are old enough to remember the original My Little Pony comercial, that will be funny. Otherwise, it will just be strange. Sorry.  Roll Eyes)
Inspired by the upcoming "My Little Pony round whatever" swap, I present my humble entry:
MY LITTLE ZOMBIE

MLZ is formerly a "Secret Surprise Pony".

Re-rooted and re-painted (a lovely decaying flesh grey green), you can see her spine, ribs and leg bone sticking out. Her good eye is bloodshot and milky...

and she's missing one eye, too.

non-display side

Thanks for looking, I had a lot of fun making her.  Grin
2  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Felted sweater owl bag *swap spoiler* on: September 27, 2006 06:35:14 PM
Fizzle, skip this post, I mean it!

For those here who are NOT Fizzle, here is a bag I made for her from a felted sweater for our personal owl swap (well, it's only personal because no one else signed up!) Excuse my lame handles.Roll Eyes I might just cut them off and do one big strap. But I like the little owl applique.

close up

the inside is lined with a super soft flannel in a retro paisley print and it includes my very first pocket! (Don't worry, I will take out Maya and my scissors and pencil before I send it!)
All in all, I'm pretty happy, but I'm not sure about the handles. What do you think?
3  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Notebook/doctor reminder book for my daughter (first craft post!) on: September 22, 2006 03:48:47 PM
Hi all! After getting frustrated today because I couldn't find the phone number for one of my daughter's specialists AND I couldn't find anywhere to write down her apointment time, I decided to do something about it. I reconed this ugly notebook/journal thing my MIL gave me with some awesome papers and added a sweet little turtle, my daughter's initial and some ric rac to the back. Inside, I added a little fold out place to store the business cards we get from her doctors and therapists (PT, OT, etc) in the front and two little library pockets in the back for misc stuff. (They're being held open with fake credit cards while the glue dries.) I'm planning on finding a little calander and putting it in the front, too.
I don't have any before pics, but trust me, it was ugly. Here's the after:

4  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Cedar Chest? on: September 16, 2006 11:01:01 PM
I got an older cedar chest from freecycle (a junk lover's best friend!). It must have gotten some water damage at some point because the feet are rotting/splitting. The inside is in decent shape, but the outside is ugly! It looks like 80's prissy girl furniture (no offense to any prissy girls reading this). Can somoene inspire me? What can I use for new feet?  Tongue
5  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Discussion and Questions / Anyone have a pattern for a swan? on: January 10, 2006 08:50:52 PM
Hi all, I'm looking to make something based on a swan...anyone have a pattern for a swan stuffed animal? I can't knit or crochet, so that's out, but I do sew...any help would be appreciated. I'm kind of fearful of making my own pattern, but will do it if it comes down to it. Smiley
6  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Hello and polymer clay question on: November 05, 2005 06:44:22 PM
Hi everyone, I'm Natalie and I'm new here.  LOVE this site. I feel like I should be jumping up and down screaming "I FOUND MY PEOPLE!!" so maybe I will. I was pretty worried that I was the only one in the world (or at least my state) that had wicked plans for Altoids tins, sparkly stuff and random things.
Anyhow, forgive me if this isn't the right place to ask this. My friend tells me that it is not, under any circumstances, safe to blake polymer clay in the same oven you use for cooking. She says I need to find a toaster oven and use it instead for the clay. I've been messing with polymer clay for a while now and I have never heard this. Any input would be appreciated.  Smiley
