1  Re: Baby/Kid Stuff Swap (Round 4) in The Swap Gallery by lemon floor wax on: December 08, 2006 10:16:57 AM
Here are some action shots of the awesome things zenochka sent for my kids!
Stephen in his Blue's clues shirt (worn to preschool once, on a snow day once and to sleep once...all in one week!):

Blue's Clue's Hoodie (worn pretty much everywhere everyday):

and here's my girl Bridget in her Strawberry Shortcake shirt playing with her "no man", giving her some "loves":

Both my kids have inherited this thing from my mom that causes them to close their eyes or look away for 99% of all photos. It drives me nuts; I almost never get a picture of them looking AT the camera with their eyes open.  Roll Eyes

Thanks for swapping with me, Cheryl! Let me know when your stuff arrives! I hope your kiddos like it. USPS.com keeps telling me it has been acceppted at my local post office...well, duh, I KNOW I took it there. DC only works if they bother to update it, I guess! Great swap! Grin I love seeing what everyone has come up with.

EDITED TO ADD: I didn't get pics of the blankets because we use them in the car. They're the perfect size! They keep little hands oasty while we're driving to school/wherever. The kids love them!

2  Re: Birds are Beautiful Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by lemon floor wax on: December 08, 2006 10:09:39 AM
I am totally in LOVE with my  owl bag. I have gotten about 900 compliments on it (because I use it as a diaper bag so it has to go everywhere I go with da kids) and when I tell people it's hand made they just freak out! so THANK YOU JUNGRRL!!!! I don't have any action shots of it yet, but the embroidery and the detail work inside are stellar! Oh, and the little felt owl is currently holding my pins. Wink
Here are some pics of the things I sent to moazogotl:
shirt with stencilled heron:

purse mirror with embellished back showing a swallow flying home (I didn't get a pic of the case I made):

and bracelet featuring some of her favorite birds and the word "FLY":

Thanks again to everyone! I had fun making and receiving! I heart Crafters and their birdy goodness! Smiley

3  Re: My little pony swap # ? (Sign up until 9-30 Send out on 10-31) Gallery in The Swap Gallery by lemon floor wax on: November 28, 2006 08:24:17 PM
Okay, here are the pics of my pony. I have no before pic because I'm a dummy and got through cutting her head off and taking her hair out before thinking, "Um yeah, I should have taken a picture of her..."
She was one of the new fangled ones, though, and had some kind of weird jewel thing in her side (?) which is part of her unique symbol. Here's the pony I made for Moose Hat, Rockin' Piper:

better (?) view of her symbol, which is sculpted bagpipes:

She was orignally a white pony, but I dyed her red because Hanna said that was her favorite color. Really, she's red in real life, not salmon-ish. I also re-rooted her hair with white, yellow, orange and peach hair and curled it. I re-painted her eyes green, too and sealed all the painted parts. She has an ear ring in one ear and a bead necklace. Oh, I think I forgot to tell you, Hanna, but I cut the magnet out of her hoof and put the plastic piece back on, in case you wanted to display her on your computer. Smiley
Here is the cutie that came to live with me:

She's a super cute cow girl with a shirt, boots, chaps and her own bandana, SCULPTED hat and SCULPTED bird friend. I love her! She's super sweet and she sits by my computer. Thanks so much for swapping with me, Hanna! Smiley
Edited because it is late and I can't spell  Tongue

4  My Little Zombie in CHALLENGE 15 ENTRIES by lemon floor wax on: October 05, 2006 07:30:08 PM
My Little Zombie, My Little Zombie, I comb and brush her hair...I tie a ribbon in her hair...
I mean, what's left of it.
(If you are old enough to remember the original My Little Pony comercial, that will be funny. Otherwise, it will just be strange. Sorry.  Roll Eyes)
Inspired by the upcoming "My Little Pony round whatever" swap, I present my humble entry:
MY LITTLE ZOMBIE

MLZ is formerly a "Secret Surprise Pony".

Re-rooted and re-painted (a lovely decaying flesh grey green), you can see her spine, ribs and leg bone sticking out. Her good eye is bloodshot and milky...

and she's missing one eye, too.

non-display side

close up of her ribs, spine, peeling flesh and radiation symbol.

Thanks for looking, I had a lot of fun making her.  Grin

5  Felted sweater owl bag *swap spoiler* in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by lemon floor wax on: September 27, 2006 06:35:14 PM
Fizzle, skip this post, I mean it!

For those here who are NOT Fizzle, here is a bag I made for her from a felted sweater for our personal owl swap (well, it's only personal because no one else signed up!) Excuse my lame handles.Roll Eyes I might just cut them off and do one big strap. But I like the little owl applique.

close up

the inside is lined with a super soft flannel in a retro paisley print and it includes my very first pocket! (Don't worry, I will take out Maya and my scissors and pencil before I send it!)
All in all, I'm pretty happy, but I'm not sure about the handles. What do you think?

6  Notebook/doctor reminder book for my daughter (first craft post!) in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by lemon floor wax on: September 22, 2006 03:48:47 PM
Hi all! After getting frustrated today because I couldn't find the phone number for one of my daughter's specialists AND I couldn't find anywhere to write down her apointment time, I decided to do something about it. I reconed this ugly notebook/journal thing my MIL gave me with some awesome papers and added a sweet little turtle, my daughter's initial and some ric rac to the back. Inside, I added a little fold out place to store the business cards we get from her doctors and therapists (PT, OT, etc) in the front and two little library pockets in the back for misc stuff. (They're being held open with fake credit cards while the glue dries.) I'm planning on finding a little calander and putting it in the front, too.
I don't have any before pics, but trust me, it was ugly. Here's the after:
