1  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / I want the old Crochet Me back on: May 17, 2008 06:47:40 PM
Forgive me if there is already a topic on this, I searched and did not find.
I will preface this by saying, Kim Werker is awesome and I am sure has spent a lot of time on converting to the new Crochet me Beta, and has been busy promoting the book...
But does anybody else miss the old crochet me webzine?  It was like Knitty, but for us.  There was a predictable expectation of a new issue of awesome, fresh, trendy, well written and well edited patterns a few times a year.  I miss it.
I find myself knitting more often now, because of this shift.  Nothing wrong with that, just interesting.
2  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Project ideas- knitting for men in warm weather? on: February 24, 2008 01:20:12 PM
The subject kind of says it all...  Anybody have ideas what to knit under warm weather conditions for a man?  (Other than light-weight socks...  I thought of that, but am not sure I want to do it.)
3  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / World of Warcraft for intarsia? on: October 02, 2007 02:33:54 PM
I want to crochet a hoodie for my best friends' toddler and they both really love the WOW.   How cool would it be to add an intarsia or applique world of warcraft element?

Unfortunately, I know next to nothing about it and can't think of a simple logo or phrase that would make them squee.  Can you help me?
4  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Yarn in Shanghai on: August 07, 2007 03:30:46 PM
I couldn't find any China info in the City guide section...  Sad
Does anybody know any yarn stores in Shanghai??
5  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Baby Showers And Gifts For New Babies / Dino Diaper Cake! on: July 29, 2007 08:05:56 PM
YEA!  It took me awhile to put together the tier bases and dowel rods, but I think it's worth it!
6  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Catnap pillow on: July 25, 2007 11:43:27 AM

I finished this for my Mom's birthday yesterday.  It was my first attempt at real crewel embroidery with the appropriate materials (wool and linen).  I had purchased a vintage kit off of e-bay and away I went...  off and on for about a year.  This bad boy was pretty painful, but it does look nice finished. Smiley
7  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Dino quilt on: July 17, 2007 02:52:43 PM
I'm in the process of embroidering squares for a dinosaur crib quilt, here are the 2 of 6 I've finished so far.  I'm using iron on transfers from Aunt Martha.  The set is OK if you ignore the t-rex's with party hats and sunglasses.

8  HOME SWEET HOME / Pet-Related Crafts: Discussion and Questions / 15 lb dog = sweater size ? on: July 06, 2007 01:06:55 PM
My friend just got a new dog, a chihuahua terrier mix they think, and I soooooo desperately want to make her a sweater.  It weighs 15 pounds...  can I use this information alone to determine a crochet doggy sweater size?
9  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / lacy choker on: June 17, 2007 11:28:05 PM

I started out making the choker asphyxiation from anticraft for a friend's birthday, but it was so wide it didn't seem wearable.

I ended up making up my own choker pattern/idea. This was a conceptually easy project to execute...

I just made a trim/edging of the correct length and added a hook and eye closure. I was excited to find the glass bead, it was perfect for the goth theme.
10  NEWS AND DISCUSSION ABOUT CRAFTSTER / Suggest New Boards and New Features / Temporary self imposed lock-out on: April 09, 2007 10:28:12 AM
Wouldn't it be awesome if you had a big project due in two days and you could temporarily freeze your own account until it was done?  I'm just too addicted to be left to my own devices.
