1  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / I want the old Crochet Me back on: May 17, 2008 06:47:40 PM
Forgive me if there is already a topic on this, I searched and did not find.
I will preface this by saying, Kim Werker is awesome and I am sure has spent a lot of time on converting to the new Crochet me Beta, and has been busy promoting the book...
But does anybody else miss the old crochet me webzine?  It was like Knitty, but for us.  There was a predictable expectation of a new issue of awesome, fresh, trendy, well written and well edited patterns a few times a year.  I miss it.
I find myself knitting more often now, because of this shift.  Nothing wrong with that, just interesting.

Thanks for the ideas guys!
3  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Project ideas- knitting for men in warm weather? on: February 24, 2008 01:20:12 PM
The subject kind of says it all...  Anybody have ideas what to knit under warm weather conditions for a man?  (Other than light-weight socks...  I thought of that, but am not sure I want to do it.)
4  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Bizarre question: Can acrylic yarn be safely microwaved??? on: February 24, 2008 01:14:50 PM
I would also stick with cotton or other natural fibers.  I made a microwaveable neckwarmer by filling the sleeve of a felted wool sweater with beans and stuff.  It's pretty nice, but scratchy on bare skin.

(I wouldn't risk spending the time to have something melt in the end.  I'm always trying to find cheats around going to the laundromat and have melted underwear in the microwave...)
5  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Circular needle holder on: February 19, 2008 03:28:28 PM
I made another one for myself this weekend, and I really like it.  Here's a picture.  Thanks again for the great idea!

Totally cute hat.  Do you have access to the actual hat?  It looks like they have a circular shaped motif, placed one at the top and then 5 or 6 on the sides, with a scallop trim.  Good luck!

And this illustrates why i need a tut...  I think the pockets are too wide, and various other imperfections.

I would LOVE a tut!  I hesitated asking because I didn't want to be pushy, but dude, yes, yes, yes, tut!!!

I love it so much!  Thanks for the inspiration!  I have been planning to make needle rolls for myself and a few friends, but am never quite sure I like how they work.  This is just the best thing ever and I'll set to work as soon as I get back after x-mas.  This is also a wonderful way to use up some awesome embroidery I have on felt!
10  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Hand Embroidered Patch Swap Gallery - Send before Nov-27 on: December 15, 2007 01:39:50 PM
Here's a group shot of all my wonderful patches as they are currently hung up on my thinking wall.  Science experiment gone wrong is going to the lab soon, the others I'm still thinking! Thanks to everyone!
