1  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Furoshiki bag/wrap thingy! on: March 08, 2006 04:12:20 PM
The other day I was rummaging through the remnants bin at Wal-mart and found this gorgeous printed satin material for only .85 cents!

Only problem with it is that there wasn't very much of it (not even a meter), so this is what it turned into:

I just folded it in half to make a square and sewed it together. Voila!
In the picture it is currently wrapped around my psych textbook, but it fits around my lunch containers and basically anything else I want it to.  A cheap economical alternative to carrying my lunch in a plastic bag!

Thanks for looking Smiley
2  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / What are these and what can I do with them? on: March 05, 2006 01:47:59 PM
A while ago my mom gave me my dearly departed grandmothers sewing box.  Today I decided to sift through it and see what I could find.  Alot of really awesome buttons and zippers still in the original packaging, thread and needles and so on and then I found these six shiny things:

I don't know what they are or what I can do with them but I really like them!
If you can't tell from the pictures they each have a star on them.

Any thoughts or ideas craftsters?
3  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Piggy Keychain on: March 05, 2006 09:17:22 AM
Hello! my felt mascots craft book came in from Japan on thursday and I finally got around to making something out of it.  Here's the pig keychain:

I think it turned out ok
The book of course is not in english but the diagrams are pretty extensive so I think I'll try something a bit more complicated next time.
Thanks for looking! (^_^)V
4  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Domokun pillow (^_^) on: February 09, 2006 03:05:56 PM
Today began with me wondering what to do with a plain brown long sleeve tee-shirt that didn't fit :

I love pillows and have a big bag of stuffing I hadn't used for anything yet so. . .

But that was kinda of plain and boring. . . So with the color being right and with the help of felt and glue:

I'm quite pleased with the results of my first pillow. I'm considering using the sleeves to make him some arms, what do you think?  Thanks for looking!

inspired by: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=11131.0 and all the other many domo-kun crafts on here. Thanks guys!
5  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Dress scraps + lots of free time = new purse on: February 09, 2006 02:53:38 PM
I had some leftover material from 'attempted dress' that was just laying around and I had been searching the stores for a big, low slung purse that I could carry lots of stuff in sans-hands.  I couldn't find exactly what I was looking for anywhere so I decided to just make it myself. 1 1/2 hours later:

It's great because it sits right against my hip where I like purses to sit but can never get them to. hehe.
Thanks for looking!

--- oh yeah, it doesn't close yet but I have purchased some velcro strips I plan on adding sometime soon.
6  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Rice Ball Scarf! on: November 28, 2005 03:23:33 PM
This is my first project that i've posted here!
I made this scarf for my friend for xmas.
It's just orange polar fleece folded and sewn together with a fringe at the end.  Oh, and of course some felt onigri for decoration Smiley
