1  Re: Around the World CD Swap in The Swap Gallery by betenoir on: May 18, 2006 06:24:33 PM
I received today from both of my partners! Good timing guys Smiley
Here's the package from Mata:

I got two cds, Baci chocolate, a pop up map of Milano and a letter on the cutest stationary!

And here's the one from Madness (minus one chocolate bar!):

This package had two chocolate bars (before I ate one), origami paper, a notecard and of course the cd Cheesy
The cds are really great guys! I love everything Cheesy
I'll post tracklists soon enough!

3  Re: What are you listening to whilst crafting CD Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by betenoir on: March 23, 2006 01:28:43 PM
I received from mjadams today (actually yesterday, but I wasn't home to get it)!
Everything is absolutely spectacular and I think on the next round i'm going to have to step it up a notch.
Anyway here is everything:

amazing knitted scarf which will keep my newly bare neck warm! (I just cut my hair today haha)

chicken feet candy which I immediately tore into and the metal cd case with the cutest magnets I've ever seen. (crab, turtle, star, clam):

I don't have the tracklist yet but I'll post when I do.  So far I haven't recognized any of the songs but I think one was Elvis Costello I'm only in about four songs though haha.

Thanks so much mjadams for being my partner and boxofpurls for organizing!

5  Furoshiki bag/wrap thingy! in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by betenoir on: March 08, 2006 04:12:20 PM
The other day I was rummaging through the remnants bin at Wal-mart and found this gorgeous printed satin material for only .85 cents!

Only problem with it is that there wasn't very much of it (not even a meter), so this is what it turned into:

I just folded it in half to make a square and sewed it together. Voila!
In the picture it is currently wrapped around my psych textbook, but it fits around my lunch containers and basically anything else I want it to.  A cheap economical alternative to carrying my lunch in a plastic bag!

Thanks for looking Smiley

6  What are these and what can I do with them? in What the heck can I do with THIS? by betenoir on: March 05, 2006 01:47:59 PM
A while ago my mom gave me my dearly departed grandmothers sewing box.  Today I decided to sift through it and see what I could find.  Alot of really awesome buttons and zippers still in the original packaging, thread and needles and so on and then I found these six shiny things:

I don't know what they are or what I can do with them but I really like them!
If you can't tell from the pictures they each have a star on them.

Any thoughts or ideas craftsters?

7  Piggy Keychain in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by betenoir on: March 05, 2006 09:17:22 AM
Hello! my felt mascots craft book came in from Japan on thursday and I finally got around to making something out of it.  Here's the pig keychain:

I think it turned out ok
The book of course is not in english but the diagrams are pretty extensive so I think I'll try something a bit more complicated next time.
Thanks for looking! (^_^)V

8  Domokun pillow (^_^) in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by betenoir on: February 09, 2006 03:05:56 PM
Today began with me wondering what to do with a plain brown long sleeve tee-shirt that didn't fit :

I love pillows and have a big bag of stuffing I hadn't used for anything yet so. . .

But that was kinda of plain and boring. . . So with the color being right and with the help of felt and glue:

I'm quite pleased with the results of my first pillow. I'm considering using the sleeves to make him some arms, what do you think?  Thanks for looking!

inspired by: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=11131.0 and all the other many domo-kun crafts on here. Thanks guys!

9  Dress scraps + lots of free time = new purse in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by betenoir on: February 09, 2006 02:53:38 PM
I had some leftover material from 'attempted dress' that was just laying around and I had been searching the stores for a big, low slung purse that I could carry lots of stuff in sans-hands.  I couldn't find exactly what I was looking for anywhere so I decided to just make it myself. 1 1/2 hours later:

It's great because it sits right against my hip where I like purses to sit but can never get them to. hehe.
Thanks for looking!

--- oh yeah, it doesn't close yet but I have purchased some velcro strips I plan on adding sometime soon.
