12  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Other Image Reproduction Techniques: Completed Projects / Re: Poor Man's Silk Screen - TUTORIAL, IMG Obese on: September 21, 2007 01:42:07 AM
I did some cellulose transfers for a swap not long ago, thanks to this fab tute. Anyway I discovered completely by accident that I got a much blacker transfer using the original print-out from my laser printer, instead of the photocopy. It did go a bit smudgy in places though so I had to be very careful. And I don't know if the transfer will be as durable.

15  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: is knitting addictive? on: September 19, 2007 05:18:17 AM
Totally addictive. I took up knitting seriously (rather than just dabbling) to help me stop smoking. Now I spend more on yarn than I ever did on cigarettes, and I've put on serious amounts of weight from sitting on my arse knitting instead of exercising.

But I have no intention of quittng knitting Grin

Details of swap:

Right, listen up you bunch of pansies. I want volunteers for a job. It could get a bit tasty so we're going to have to go in tooled up. I'm talking needles, string and lots of beige. If you can't hack it, walk away now.

Your job is to craft a package based on the BBC series Life on Mars. You'll be assigned a partner and you'll be using this new-fangled 'wide world of web' to talk to her (or him. We're not sexists here). You'll make one large, one medium and one small item for your partner who in turn will make something for you. Remember to talk to each other. If there's an odd number of participants I'll make it a round-robin instead.

Right you tarts! get moving.

If you want to participate, information to send to your guv'nor:

QUESTIONNAIRE TO ANSWER:

Name of swap Life on Mars
Craftster username
Email address
Your real name
Mailing address including the country
Would you be willing to ship to an address outside your own country?

Who's your favourite Life on Mars character?
Fave quote?
Fave song from the soundtrack?
Fave 70s car?
Do you have a favourite episode?
What crafts can you do?
What crafts can't you do, but admire?
What would you like to receive?
What do you really not need?
Any allergies?
Anything you object to on ethical grounds eg. animal products?

IF YOU WANT TO PARTICIPATE, REMEMBER TO SEND YOUR INFO TO THE GUV'NOR VIA PRIVATE MESSAGE AND NOT TO REPLY WITH IT HERE.

Also remember to read the Swap Info Guide to find out how to ship your item and other details about participating in a swap.
