21  Re: come on guys...be my brighton tour guide! in ENGLAND by Safetyfox on: March 16, 2006 03:20:46 AM
As threatened, here is a pic of me in my dress from Get Cutie... unfortunately you can't see the lower half, but the skirt is kind of fifties-style.

The green and black handbag made out of seatbelts is also from a shop in Brighton's North Laines, called Flawless if I remember rightly.

Well here we go gang -- pictures of my lovely gifts from PurpleHeather!

Beautiful panta made from Rowan felted tweed, in green with little flecks of orange and blue. I'm wearing it today and it's keeping my ears toasty-warm  Smiley

And yarn! such a great colour. I love green:

It sounds like everyone sent and received wonderful stuff  Grin

23  Re: Circular Shrug / Vest - Scale Model - TUTORIAL in Knitting: Completed Projects by Safetyfox on: February 07, 2006 03:15:56 AM
Inspired by all the lovely circular shrugs here, I made one for my friend Liz for her birthday. Here she is modelling it:

She chose her own yarn. It's Sirdar Denim aran, which is a blend of acrylic, cotton and wool. It was really nice to work with. The colourway is a mix of dark brown, cream, khaki and pale pink. Here's a close up:

Liz is really pleased with her present. She told me she was worried she'd have to pretend to like it! Just as well she did like it, cos it looked absolutely terrible on me  Cheesy

Huhwhat? -- I love your lacey one with sleeves, especially the cuffs. Nice!

24  Summer-in-Winter / Winter-in-Summer recycled sweater bag in Knitting: Completed Projects by Safetyfox on: January 16, 2006 06:27:20 AM
I accidentally shrunk my pink cabled jumper in the wash. It began to felt rather nicely, so I washed it some more, with jeans.  Recalling all the wonderful recycled sweater items I've seen here, I decided to make it into a bag.

Here it is in its Summer-in-Winter form -- wool outside, cotton inside:

and here it is in its Winter-in-Summer incarnation with the wool on the inside:

and here's a bit of detail:

I'm really pleased with it!

25  Re: 'Kate' from Winter Knitty! in Knitting: Completed Projects by Safetyfox on: January 05, 2006 02:05:06 AM
I finally finished my Kate!

Here she is on the sofa:

and on the stairs. This one shows the colours more accurately.

It took me ages to get the face looking how I wanted it to, but I'm really pleased with the end result. Cute!

26  Knitted dog coat (img heavy) in Knitting: Completed Projects by Safetyfox on: December 14, 2005 02:08:38 AM
At last, here is one of my FOs. It's a knitted dog coat from a pattern sold in aid of the Battersea Dogs' Home in London. I knitted it for my friend's puppy George who gets cold on his walks. Here is George with his mum.

In this one you can see the button I added. The pattern called for a seam but I thought that trying to get the coat over a wriggling puppy's head might be a bit tricky.

And here is my cat Chick Pea modelling the coat. She wasn't at all happy about it, especially as it was much too small, and got her own back for the affront to her dignity by sicking up her dinner.

George is apparently very pleased with his new jumper.
