I'm so excited to be amongst other felters...usually it's just me, the wool, and the hot soapy water..
So with all the combined experience here, maybe someone can help me figure out why the boots I felted for my daughter last week pilled right away, and look truly ghastly, when they were supposed to be adorable?
I did them seamless with a fabric pattern, fulled them (a lot) on her feet, then dyed them. Four layers of Merino top roving.
I'm really bummed, and so are the other kids because I won't make them any til I find out why.
Any ideas?
