1  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Sorority swap?! on: November 27, 2006 12:15:52 PM
Hi! Smiley I know I have seen a couple other Greek ladies on the boards, so I was wondering how many people would be interested in a sorority swap...

I know my sorority (Alpha Xi Delta) does lots of crafty things within our chapter as gifts for bigs, littles, fall recruitment, and other events.

I would organize it, and pair girls from different chapters up.  You find out what sorority your partner is in, their colors, mascot, etc. and craft a few things for them based on what you find out.

Anyone interested??
2  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / pimpin' goblets on: May 18, 2006 12:22:34 PM
Since I live in Nebraska, my boyfriend, friends, and I are often left wondering what to do.  One of our favorite things to do is go out and experience the Omaha nightlife--that is, walk around Wal-Mart at 1 am.  Well, the other day they had these shopping carts full of huge plastic wine glasses for $1.  I had an idea: we should make a Holy Grail!

Josh had a better idea- we should make "pimp cups" like those rappers on MTV!

We got the glasses, two paint markers, and some big rhinestones to glue on.  We started out our crafting...here is Robert (left) and Jon (the bf, right)

and about an hour later we had these pimpin' goblets!

Mine says "crunk juice," Jon's says "Lizz337," our friend Josh's has a blingin' J, and Robert's is "Wizzaffle $tomper$."  Complete with a waffle, knife, and fork on the back. They all have rhinestones glued into the bottom of the cup as well.

Sometimes silly, late-night crafting can be really fun!!  Plus, now my little brother is jealous of my bathroom cup.  Hahaha.

3  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / pottymouth lite-brite designs *warning: adult language* on: April 03, 2006 03:08:22 PM
My roommates and I have a lite brite in our living room, and I had a bad day yesterday.  This is what happened:

4  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Painted Wooden Box on: March 27, 2006 09:10:28 PM
I had to make a plaque for my sorority "big sister," so I decided to do it on a box instead.  I painted a wooden box from Michael's with acrylic paint and added our letters, symbols, and some quotes about sisterhood. I think you could make one for any theme though!

The inside is lined with scrapbooking paper that I measured to be the dimensions of the box, glued, and finished off with glossy Mod Podge.  This is my first project posted on Craftster.

5  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / How many balls of yarn do I need? on: October 31, 2005 10:14:20 AM
I have crocheted lots of things, but I have never used novelty yarns.

If I were going to use, say, Modea Dea's "Dream" yarn to make a single-crocheted scarf, how many balls would I need?
