1  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Altar for my hippie friend! on: August 19, 2009 08:08:27 PM
I was perusing the thrift stores (as I often do) and saw this diamond in the rough sitting there. I knew this would be perfect for one of my most dearly loved friends, so I picked it up, not knowing exactly what to do with it.
There it sat for months and months. I had the intention of making into an altar, but was short on ideas.

Then my friend's birthday rolled around, I had a breakup that same week, and voila! The need to keep my mind occupied and the pressure of a deadline created this!

I am very happy with how it turned out and my friend loved it. He is going on a spiritual sojourn for a year and said he was sad to leave the previous altar I had given him (again from a thrift store, but it was already nice without any alteration from me) because it was too big. Now he has something more portable!

3  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Throwing my pin into the pot. on: October 22, 2004 02:11:11 AM
So I'm far too excited about making my first flower pin to match my favorite pair of earrings and I know you must all be sick of them by now, but what the heck? Here it is.

4  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Discussion and Questions / Decoupage question on: May 10, 2004 01:48:15 PM
I wanted to decoupage a table with magazine clippings i had, but I was just wondering... if I glue them on the table will the other side show through?  Huh Some of the pictures are very light and I'm afraid they will. I've seen lots of awesome magazine decoupage projects on here and no one has seemed to have a problem yet, so any feedback would be appreciated.  Grin
5  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Gum wrapper box on: March 07, 2004 10:07:13 PM
Hey crafster kids, I'm new to the board, although I have been lurking for a while. Let me first say, awesome site, and the community is really what makes it awesome, not the just the beautiful things you guys create. Although, that's also awesome  Grin(stops saying awesome). Anyhow... now that I've rambled sufficiently. An old friend of the family, who is sadly incarcerated at the moment  Undecided, sent me this box for my birthday. It's made with gum wrappers that have been folded and weaved together, it's pretty cool. It smells like mint and cigarettes though! Kiss, but I thought you all might enjoy it... sorry for the crappy pictures... my webcam is older than sin.
